Uprising

Well my friend and I, as well as a few other people are making a server called Uprising. It's planned to be a futuristic RP a bit like Final Fantasy X only in realtime with in depth magic and fighting systems. Many more interesting idea's are planned and we are always coming up with more. My friend will be buying the server soon and we are in need of LATs, GATs, NATs, SFXs, and Developers.

The applications are attached (a minimum of 2 need to be passed for Developer position) and should be sent to [email protected]

Please help us in, what we hope, will be a revolutionary new server unlike any other.

A few changes in the idea's to Uprising have been made.

We've decided to have it take place in two time periods.
The 1600's and the 2200's.

Baddys will be in a turn based format, whereas pking will be in the normal real time style.
Spars can be either, and as well at any time you can challenge a player to a turn based battle.

The main systems are about 40% finished, and a few overworld levels have been detailed.

We are in desperate need of all positions, and you can contact me or louie on uprising or me by forum pm for more details.

What we have done:
-90% of the item system.
-90% of the main gui
-50% of the q menu
-50% of the stats menu
-30% of the main system
-10% of weapons (one image and the basic script xP)
-5% of the baddies (xP basically just a list of baddies is all there is)
-5% of levels

Very wise idea creating your systems before you start development on most of the levels, most servers can fail due to the fact that such systems can't be completed by people who aren't too experienced with that kind of scripting. Very nice screenshots as well, good luck!

Most of that is due to the fact that I dislike making levels.

And my other leveler is lazy. lol

I'm a GAT first, Scripter Second, Ganier third, and LAT dead last. lol

(Sorry for double post once again)
Some updates:
-Q Menu is 90% Finished. I have began work on weapons and items and finishing the stat systems. Combat should be ready in 1-2 weeks.

-A new messages system using GUI controls. Simply used. You type in your message into the the bar in the window and hit send. Or if you want to send a private message through the messages system, you hit the PM window and another window pops up. You type in the account of the player you want to send it to in the appropriate bar, and then the message in the other bar. Then hit send. Also, status messages will be shown through this. (eg: When you equip a Katana, it will say "Equipped Katana"). Event notifications will be sent through this as well.

-Over head UI is made, as well as custom names. A little HUD and the players name (with the players custom color) shows on the player when you put your mouse over them. The HUD shows the players HP bar and MP bar. I plan to add custom chat fonts/colors as well.

-Item system is 100% finished. Works fully. =)

-We are still in dire need of LATs. I hope we will have 2-3 LATs so that work isn't piled up on our LATs.

Hahaha, thats what Ive been doing all these years, and you are the first one to agree to it! Everyone else are like "Dude wtf, you have to make all levels first!", thanks alot!

(Oh my, double post once again. My apologies.)

Once again, some more updates!

-Q Menu is almost finished!
-Stat System and Stats Menu are almost finished, as well! =D
They include differences between the classes:
-Sorceror
-Warrior
-Archer
-Paladin
Paladin being the well rounded, in the middle, class.
-A few updates on the messages system. Announcements via commands from RC, player logins, special message tags for Admins. Also you don't have to press the OK button to send, you just press enter. The OK button was replaced with the Clear button to clear all your messages.
-Several items have been made, but as of yet, are useless until the Q Menu is complete.
-One of our staff has made a tileset, but I have yet to see it so it has not been approved yet. I trust that it will work for us though. =)
-A spellbook has been made, but I can't be sure if anything but the gui that shows for it works until some spells are made.
-Little tweaks on the main system and GUI, amoung other things.

Once again we are in dire need of LATs, this server wont go anywhere no matter what scripts we have without them. I can't do the levels alone. =(

(This is becomming more of a thread for announcements, so don't be mad at me for my multi-posts! lol)

I created a real time system, thats still a little buggy (it doesn't like zero's, which I haven't gotten around to fixing.) and doesn't have months scripted into it. With this time system I have been able to make a day/night system. I may or may not make weather, but if I do I'll be sure to use the particle engine. =)

Our NAT plans to make some sports. (O.o Doesn't exactly fit in with the style or timeline, but hey. Can make for fun events.)

(Yeah, kinda reviving an old thread, but I haven't been able to post any new developments on uprising for awhile)
Due to some problems that came to our attention about some of the old systems, we are working on new ones. (Not to mention the sloppiness of the code).
Also, I've started a website.

So far, only the about page and the forums are up, but we plan to do a lot with the website. We plan to integrate the website with the server a lot. You'll be able to view any players statistics, what items they have, etc. As well, we might have trading/buying/selling items via the website, if it can be made secure enough.

The message system is being expanded, and I'll post more about it once it's done. I'll hint though that it will have several new features. (Obviously)

You might wanna come on Uprising, to check out new inventory my friend Yaharii is making. It's pretty awesome, I think. =P He's been working hard on a new item system, and I can't wait till it's finished.

Personally, I think if we can get some dang lats, we can have a good bit of playable content for players within a few weeks. =)

I'm real excited about this server, and I hope the players will enjoy the finished product. ;o

EDIT:
I'd also like to note that anyone sending in levels should give them in image screenshot form, since gmail doesn't like to show levels properly. It just shows blank levels. >=(

Also, I forgot to mention that there is a new tileset. Check it out. =)

Wow, talk about stealing my Food System from Maloria. Same abbreviations in the gui and the same color for the bar I had made.

And the GUI does not have the same abbreviations. o_o

FD is the abbreaviation on maloria, not EN. And it's gonna be changed to SP (stamina points).
The new stuff looks nothing like maloria. (The new inventory window, for instance.)

Everything looks very grainy and the texture is pretty garb.

Levels could use a lot of work.

The concept is nice but everything needs work.

Edit: And the tiles on that tileset don't flow very well, when I look at it I'm not thinking "What a nice level" I'm thinking "Man that's repetative and choppy, let me log off".

Then of course I realize I'm on the forums so I just scroll down >.>

I was referring to the image you posted that did have the same abbreviations, indicating where you knowingly took the idea from.

You're showing off Uprising content for developers to come work for you, not Maloria content. It doesn't matter what it was originally made of if you plan on using it on your server.

You also failed to notice that I said it was temporary. And it's obviously not maloria content if it was never even uploaded on Maloria. Must you whine and argue about stuff you don't know about EVERYWHERE you go? x.x

Oh yeah, well my friend yaharii, who is doing all this decided to go with ANOTHER theme (only slightly different) AND he's starting over on the item system, so expect some pretty big changes in that area.

We're opting for a much more RPG style item system, where you can attach items to a weapon or another item. Like some kind of crystal to a sword to make it stronger.

Also Louie, the owner, has a friend who is making sfx for us, including some very good music, which can be used for background music. I think some of it is really catchy. =)

Except I don't think we're gonna use one thats the exact same notes as Guns N Roses song Sweet Child Of Mine xD

Maybe make the area between the icons and the border a bit smaller. Makes the window a bit more eye friendly (less to look at when you're searching for one specific thing). Also, by editing your first post, your viewers will find the information and images alot easier. We currently have to search the entire thread for the important parts.

Mmyea, I've forgotten to mention that yaharii started over on the item system and q menu...again. o.o

I started on the combat system, and players can punch each other as well as a few npcs I put outside the OSL, that are just images of dragons that give you exp when you destroy them. Just something to do, and a way to progress yourself

Also we are in the process of making a new tileset.

Your going to need a decent levels artist and your going to have to make yourself different from Maloria in every way. So you pretty much need to ditch your Gui and your current tiles and draw up something different and better.

2nd, Don't use that dragon the perspective just does not fit and it just does not blend in with everything else. (It looks like shiny plastic thats beginning to melt.

Gotta understand if you plan on surviving you gotta bring some serious quality work.

people called it a mal clone because it was, you had a wooden plank boarder and gold level hp and mp and the 3rd bar where all in the same position
