None of the Valikorlian staff worked on Dev, just Clash
And the way he's talked about it, he's not going to have any active staff in Val. Almost every staff member on current Val is going to be fired

They never were, Val never had any good LATs and there scripts were never to great. The only thing that they had that was decent was Gfx artists to make the GFX. The RPAs jeez "Hey lets give super powers to my friends but for everone elsa **** AND DIE PLZ!" Staff was and still is just a CONGRADS YOU HAVE 2K HRS PLZ!

Not to undermine Clash here, but for the past two years us "useless staff" have pretty much been running Val.

Well according to Clash's plans for new val, you're correct. He's designed it so most staff positions wouldn't be necessary. He flooded the world and said new val would be there by Christmas 04. It wasn't, needless to say, so we worked with what we had.

And another thing, those of you that aren't impressed by the first look at it, keep in mind there is a lot more coming. I don't think anyone was impressed by the demo level he put up, the tileset and bodies are nice but honestly that's all we got to see from his demo level. He's told me quite a bit about how New Val will function so if you weren't impressed by it just keep in mind that there should be a lot more forthcoming.

I like the ideas he was talking about. I loved the way the body system is going to be. He was talking about players using their custom bodies to attempt to edit their height. This is a huge leap from the default way bodysets have been in the past. Everyone having the same bodyshape and height due to a 32x32 sprite restraint

I've talked with Clash about the subject more then once, actually - and I have to say, I like what he has planned. The plans he has for roleplaying seem to be pretty sound, so that leaves me satisfied to that extent.

New Val is going to rule. The reason Clash doesn't bother much with current val is because it's useless. In my opinion nothing can be done to bring back the popularity it had in 2002-2004 apart from this New Val project.

Many of you are like LOL DIS SUX F U CLASH, well Clash doesn't get along with everyone. Hell I hated him in 03 but it's all cool now.

Yeah, we might not be able to get current Val back to its old 60 players at all times of day, but its still fun on current Val - atleast, I think it is, since I actually try to RP. Can't say the same for everyone, but most of the people who still stick around Val are either newbies, midbies like me and most of amigos, or just crazy oldbies with crazier events in the works - which often never get hosted and or fulfilled.

Clash is apparently going to be re-scripting some of the systems from New Val into current Val so that they get used, last I heard.

So let me get this straight. He purposly kills Val after taking managership from Jesse in 2004, makes us wait 2 years just to scrap the project? Back in 2005 I kept nagging at him to return the level up system so we could atleast have some fun + playerbase but Zodiac takes any chance of that happening with it.

Now what? Seriously, now what? Mixing new val into current val? Val's current system is ****tier than ever.
