I didn't say it was funny. But you do realize that he is making a joke and using it as humor. Is it inapproaite? Absolutely. Is it funny? That depends on your point of view.
We all know it was wrong, but are you so stubborn that you wont look past that for one second to get to the point that I was trying to make?
