The world is flat, and the pyramids were buyilt by martians.
What??
I am a PLAYER in game. I could care less if people hate me because I do MY JOB.
The question I asked had NOTHING to do with my job. My question was about OLDER PLAYERS!

It is not that it is important to me to know, as the thread title stated, I am curious, why must you and a few others turn it into something hateful?
Does my existance on these forums alone threaten you personally that much?
If so, that's just sad.

To be fair every post he makes is sad, it's very irritable.

Of course not, I have no problem with older players. Once again you group all the other players in as people who are less mature than you.
We KNOW what this thread's about. But be wary when you make topics about yourself, in general, people get pretty fustrated with you, and posting here, you were bound to hear some of that. Why? Because most people here don't care about your age, it's your actions that bother us.
You obviously want to know, even though we've given you plenty of reasons.
I always thought it was kinda cool that you played graal, even if most people your age don't even touch video games. However, You didn't mass this out on N-pulse, you put this on a thread, on forums where most people don't play graal too much. What did you really expect? I don't care if you're here, just don't act like you're somehow better, because you're older. I think this generation bases respect on what you do, not how many times you've blown out the candles.

I have a problem with older players. You spend so much time with Graal I wouldn't be surprised if your kids shoot someone in school or kill someone. When I was younger we always had a computer and my parents weren't on it longer then 30 minutes a day. I would of yelled and complained if they got active in a game online. The time you are spending on this game is time wasting away that you can spend with your family. Get your **** together and realize what is truly important in your life: Family or Graal.

So it's alright for children to spend 24 hours a day on the computer and not spend any time with family, but not alright for the adults?

Get your family involved w/ graal...and an extra computer.
Actually, I've seen this before. (It was on some tv show). The thing is, you do have to budget your time. Teenagers don't, that's a given. And they normally won't care that their parents don't (unless they're hogging the only computer!). I'm not saying darlene doesn't budget her time, but she is on often. You gotta do what's right for you and your family. As long as you make up for your onlie time with family activitie, it's really not a big deal.

I'm not on often. I actually play Graal 1 or 2 hours at night, maybe.
And the forums take no time at all.

I just see you on here often, but you're right, that means nothing, a post takes like 5 seconds.
I don't think you have that problem Darlene.

Moonie, can I ask what your children think of you playing on Graal at your age? Their opinions should be the only ones that matter to you in retrospective.

I only asked the question out of curiosity to begin with, but my kids are indifferent about my playing Graal as it takes nothing away from them, and they know I enjoy it, so it's cool with them.
I have 4 kids, 3 are adults.

Why would they? Why should they care, seriously.
I don't interfere with their hobbies, as long as they break no laws.
They don't interfere with mine.

I don't neglect them. I don't neglect my responsabilities.
My computer is in the living room, I'm not hiding away in my bedroom with the door shut, and a do not disturb sign on the door.

My kids, my husband, my life, my responsabilities all come before my hobby, so why would they care?

I understand where you're going with this. I would be embarrassed if my parents played a MMORPG. The only people in school who would actually accept it-is someone who isn't social with other kids.

Where do you get these facts from? Obviously not real-life experiences.

My sister has a daughter who is 13ish or something like that, and she (my sister) and her boyfriend both play a different MMORPG which does not affect the sociability of their daughter to the least.

You should stop attempting to get into the minds of other people, unless you have a degree in psychology which I am not aware of (and is not blatantly obvious.)

So you know for a fact that inside somehow she doesn't feel neglected or isn't teased in school? Also is the boyfriend the girls father?

The question wasn't about neglect, but about the teasing thing, yes I am sure. And yes, the boyfriend is her father.

Wow, you have to be really 'fragile' to be bothered by parents who play online games

The problem goes by the name of excaliber! Aparently people on here don't know how to read sarcasm, so this is a little disclaimer telling people that it is sarcasm and not to get freaked out and call me a retard about it or anything of that nature.

You are not sure unless you can feel what she feels. So your sister had a child out of wedlock; I'm sure the little girl loves everyone knowing that mommy and daddy are just boyfriend and girlfriend.

I can't get to my point because I'd simply be banned. Aknts knows where I was going and kind of touched on the subject.

And other people wouldn't know from everyday life, let alone an mmorpg?
I agree with you, parents should make time for family, but that doesn't mean never doing things they like to do.

But honestly like I said before I just have a problem with old people playing games with kids. I know that the majority has no problem with it but I personally do. So pretty much everything I said is just biased anyways.

I am really curious as to why players feel this way, and if there are any other older adults that play that receive the same treatment.
We aren't your children, nor do we want to be treated like it. You are a horrible moderator because instead of being even semi-respectable, you are cold, frigid and condescending. You never contribute, you only muffle and muzzle and gag people and that's how it has always been since the horrible decision was made to appoint you. It is stuff like this...

Instead of moderating for the community, you moderate for unixmad and only for unixmad. I don't care what excuses you give as refutation because I've heard them and they don't make up for it. I don't care about the community anymore because it is nothing but a shell now, but if you really must ask questions you might as well get a decent answer from someone who doesn't give a damn if he is banned for being too honest.

I had no problem with Chuck. I had no problem with other adults who play. I am an adult myself. It is because you have a position of power, and run this like a God damned preschool instead of a forum which young adults frequent. There is a wall between you and people who are younger than you, and this was not realized when you were appointed moderator, and clearly not when you were appointed forum administrator.

The whole NGRT farce, the whole "The Lounge" farce, everything is becase you had to whine and complain to unixmad. Do not think that I am stupid enough to believe that you didn't wholly contribute to those events which basically left any debating on the forum pointless. You used to participate in those debates, including some of the homosexual-directed ones, and when people started making points that you didn't like (and it was a matter of preference on your part, since they were accompanied by relevant studies), you started PMing them threateningly and calling them homophobic (I can only assume, since you did to me on at least one occasion).

And unfortunately, you don't give a **** about the community. Anyone who really cared about the community instead of being the king (or queen, as the case may be) **** of turd island would have quit over that ridiculous "no non-graal links" rule. Also, you would not have completely warped the community to the little dollhouse that it has become if you actually cared about the people in it. As much as you would like to think about this not having to do with your horrible actions, it is. Don't fool yourself more than you already do when you think that you're doing the right thing.

I'm sorry I didn't phrase it in the form "The reason people are unfair to you is...". And it does answer your question just fine.

p2p_Sir_Link is an unknown quantity at this point
No New Year's Day to celebrate,
No chocolate covered candy hearts to give away,
No first of spring, no song to sing,
In fact, here's just another ordinary day.

CHORUS
I just called to say I love you;
I just called to say how much I care;
I just called to say I love you,
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart.

No April rain, no flowers' bloom,
No wedding Saturday within the month of June.
But what it is is something true
Made up of these three words that I must say to you.

CHORUS

No summer's high, no warm July,
No harvest moon to light one tender August night,
No autumn breeze, no falling leaves,
Not even time for birds to fly to southern skies.

CHORUS

No Libra sun, no Hallowe'en,
No giving thanks for all the Christmas joy you bring,
But what it is, tho' old, so new,
To fill your heart like no three words could ever do.

CHORUS

PS: I love you Moon Goddess

Wow, protagonist, nice way of saying what we were all thinking. But since it was off topic, not many people will read it before it's deleted, or the thread's closed =|

Looks like it is still there to me...
Please stop trying to start trouble, and please dont try to say all of the members of the forums feel this way.

Wow, are you an idiot? Point +1 for Moonie. If you're using your cheating the game as an excuse to hate older people because they punish you for it, then screw you. You deserve to be punished if you are cheating to win. People play this game to have fun, not to get annoyed by some kid who knows how to hit a few buttons in a dialog window to make his character go 10 times faster.

Also, Moonie, I have been wondering: How many times have you used your age as a backup in an argument, ie: "I'm older than you, I know more about this" etc.
-1 point for you, I didnt say I used cheating as a excuse to hate old poeple did I? Infact I explained why people lash out at her. I have no problem with her, considering she does nothing to me at all. I havnt cheated in this game since 2002, so I think its alittle late for a punishment buddy. Its 2006 and infact I dont care enough about graal to even cheat let alone that I easily become good at any actual gameplay graal after 6-7 years. +1 point for me, an **** off.

Edit: This a little edit for the below post, Ive never been banned on graal on any server for cheating in any way. Only time Ive been banned is on babylon when me and the development team cant agree with each other. So if thats pretty much what I said, maybe you should get your eyes checked.

Age is an excuse.
