Calling you out: Delteria Dev wants ya <3

After all this time, you'd think Delteria would be rocking the playerlist... but unfortunately being on the bottom doesn't necessarily help our rep any. Quite frankly we don't have much to show for ourselves... or do we?

For the past... actually, we'd rather not think about that... we at Delteria have been making the most pimpinest (I'm keying that term, btw) playerworld imaginable.

To show what little we've done in the past... however long its been... (we've been too busy living our lives and having fun to get much done... going on RC in between work/drunken rages/parties to get stuff done...), I've enclosed several screenshots featuring random areas of "Kaljun Island"... mostly its port town cleverly named "Kaljun Port Town," which is a GMap that amounts to about maybe 1/37 of the island's GMap when you look at the whole thing:

Since the port town is yet to be the place that I've explored so far, I'll post pics from there... but rest assured this is only a fraction of the stuff we're (and by "we", I mean "both the former and present staff") responsible for as of yet.

Also, more screenshots are available upon request... but in our opinion it'd be a lot cooler to actually help us out and be there (refer to bottom of post for exactly what kind of staff we're hiring atm) than to just sit in a forum for a few days waiting for a pic of our awesome levelmaking and graphical prowess.

And just for the sake of variety, here's a picture of part of the nature scene just outside of the northern end of the Port Town:

Now I know someone that reads (and by "reads" I mean "glances at") this thread will be all like "hey Mike, what about the toys? And stuff to do? How about that HMMmmHMmM?!!?@$four%#@?!"

Well, randomnub143, I was told to refrain from posting screenshots of all the stuff we have to offer (which is why I've shown only pieces of screenshots of places in only one town/island) because it's not cool to put EVERYTHING we have on display (because that would take all f**king day to make pictures of and host... much less for you to see in a triple-posted thread)

... but maybe this guillotine will satisfy your little, naive, doubtful curiosity:

We are currently hiring in all departments. Not that we really need the help or anything, but really because now that we have most all of the basic necessities graphic-wise, we can push forward and pimp out the server with more levelmaking (more islands than just Kaljun, ya know...), scripters, gani-makers, et cetera... for whatever the heck we need ya for/whatever you feel like doing.

And yea I never really said anything but the castle tiles never were actually to impressive. (Bricks, Windows) everything else was cool though. except your inside floor tiles that I feal like you never changed lol even though I truly dont know since its been so long.

O and you have yet to note why Mystic Legends was using your tileset if the first place and what was the issue with that. Since they are obviously still using it.

I really like the ideas of these, the graphics may not be top notch but the ideas are better than alot of servers. I wouldnt mind updating a few of the graphics for you guys when i get time

Mystic Legends? If you are talking about Mythic Legends, I have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Using Delterias tiles? Funny, we are making our own tileset from scratch, and so far only inside tiles have been made.

It's all good :-) — this is about asking for help to get stuff done. We're trying, and more trying from more people wouldn't hurt. We're all cool with the whole Mana Realms thing. As far as I know we can both use it — why compete? We're trying to make Graal a better game, not mess it up and make it die even more... and arguing over a tileset is just plain stupid. I say drop the topic.

I think the tiles are wonderful :-). The GFX guys have done a great job overall imo.

So who wants to help instead of complain like the above poster here? Just talk to Riot or MisconceptioN whenver they can get on (usually around the nighttime, although Riot is usually on RC), or just make a post in the Delterian forums asking for help.

Riot is already aware that he can not use tiles we are using, specificly the tree and bush. The castle tiles and all the ones you made are fine.. but terrains and such are not allowed to be used by Delteria.

It's not about competing, its about wanting to offer a sense of uniqueness to players on both servers. You have a much larger staff, and I am told that you are in the process of redoing the tiles that you can't use so thats good. So I hope that screenshot with you and the trees etc is with temporary usage of my graphics.

Besides, its not like we can make little 2px by 2px apples — that'd be retarded. Also, its hard to be original when you're making tiles... so of course it all looks alike. You can only go so far with a Zelda-themed 2D MMORPG. (don't correct me with your "it doesn't have to be" crap, either. you know what I mean, smartass)

But it does make sense, if you see an error and know you can fix it, why not help? ^_^

I see some good potential here, and if you want i would be happy to contirbute some graphics and update some of the tiles

I'm already occupied with Babylon. My computer doesn't work now anyway so I can't really do anything.

Also, I still consider Delteria a home for me (along with Xone, Enigma, Sans, etc) but I've lost hope in it. The current Delterian OW has been molested badly since Tiamat originally released it. Too many useless expansions and lack of things to do killed it off. To make things worse they made the main spar right on top of onlinestart which just killed the one to the west of the place.

I'm just waiting for this New Delt to come out, level wise there's not much I can do to be honest. I'm not sure what it was before 2001 but after Tiamat's 2002 re-make Delteria has had one of the best town tiling evar. Delteria needs this again. Something bigger, better, and more hawt.

Personally, I like the graphics for the new Delteria overworld. If anybody could do better, then they are wasting their time on Graal. Anything better than that would be much better used on an entirely new game.

I would change the castle walls atleast cause they are a huge part of the levels and ruin the surroundings, and yea you rlly dont need Lats and I myself am also occupied with Babylon so I dont plan on helping you at the moment.

You have people who can fix up the tiles so if someone says somthing doesnt look so appealing, maybe just make it more appealing with your current staff team. Im sure all of them arnt doing somthing.

We also have a grand central station I found recently (Hell I'm still discovering stuff around here... and I've been apart of the dev for like a month and a half now):

(oh yeah and btw the guy who complained about the bright tiles of the walls... they'll be balanced out when the day/night system comes into play. White is easier to tint and reflect light than darker colors like on the default tileset)


You can help us too! We're hiring in all departments. I'm no Admin or whatever, but I think the Dev server kicks major ass. I've been playing Graal for 4 years now, and I've been around the block a few times... so I think it should go without saying that I know what I'm talkinga bout.

Good at GFXing? Come play with us and make stuff. We could use a prototype guy to make stuff so we can practice our jobs, like fishing and mining and whatever. It's kinda lame making numbers dance all day. We're always having fun in RC chat (when we're all in the room together...) and the forums are hilarious to read. We're like perfectionists who kick ass at what we do.

Just because you're impressed doesn't mean you can't help. Most Delterians like to ridicule stuff or make fun of things so you can show us something and we'll make it better. Hell, I haven't made one foolproof script that MisconceptioN or someone else couldn't improve. That makes this server great for you to improve yourself as well by seeing how what you make can be improved.

Plus, Delteria has always had like zero lagg. Perfect place to PK. I used to try and go into Maloria or NP or something and try to PK and it would be all delayed and crap. Delteria scripts are as short and sweet as possible. Everytime we release something it's near perfect and its been corrected and stomped on by everybody on the team so its nice and shiny for the players.

o and P.S. those tiles were like that before any such idea of a day night system(I was there). So dont use that as a excuse on why they were made like that.
