I started out quite mediocre, as Dweebite - you might remember me, and now I can say, without modest, that I'm one of the better developers. Not the best, not a scratch on alot of people, but better than most.

Couldnt have said it better myself. There are still more then a few skilled, dedicated developers out there.. You just have to be able to notice them behind the crowd of mediocre so-called developers.
