ID3 Tags

Adding ID3 tags from streaming files (or currently playing files) to a string. Basicly this would be a nice addon for many servers. Possibly even a getID3(url) option for interactive radio's or something in that direction.

It would benifit Graalonline servers cause they can play legal music via streams off legal radio stations. The ID3 tags would simply be more "commercial".

Graalonline could even look into streaming "winamp.com" featured artists, in exchange for currency or promotion. (But that is irrelivant for now)

PS, note that this "idea" has been subjected as a Future Improvement before but sadly never taken into revision. While it would be a minor update since ID3 tags are pretty easy to read/process into programs.

It can be scripted using GS2.
Edit: I mean streaming the song names and artist names from winamp.com and such. Although reading ID3 tag might be possible. I'd have to look into it.

It's been a while now, does anybody have any idea how (ID3 tags) might be gotten trough graal? It would make life a little bit easier (just a little)

Since if I could have the choice between a interactive radio playlist showing currently playing songs+stations or laggy winamp. I would basicly pick a great graal radio >.>!

If anyone has any idea what so ever, please feel free to post. (Since this is one of the few ideas/questions in this section wich makes sence :P!)

Hmmm it should be possible for Graal to retrieve that info, will check if we can add a scripting command for accessing it. This is for in-game radios for displaying the current artist or song ?

Ok added support for retrieving information about title and artist in the next Graal v4 release, also starting a radio stream doesn't block Graal anymore, and its possible to retrieve playlists (via requestURL), will post a script for those things in the official release thread (hopefully sometime this week).

Thanks alot.. now servers can have nice radio playlists wich show the current songs a radio station (stream) is broadcasting. That way .. servers become more attractive?!

Servers like GK might even add it in as a VIP function or something alike =o

This is a little bit different though. It's clientside functionality for retrieving information about the currently played music or stream. When playing mp3s you can check for the artist etc., when streaming radio you can display the artist and title which are sent all few seconds by the streaming server.
Also the requestURL-stuff has been fixed to correctly send URLs that contain a &, so you can load play lists.

Mmm.. well thats still good =)
It just comes in handy when you play your radio and you wish to know a song... withouth going OMG OMG WHAT SONG IS THAT!

Above all it gives people a chance to close the damn stream if they see 50 Cent- Wanksta.. and they like hate gangster rap :P! (But than again you'd probely already hear the song before the ID tag loaded)
