What does graal's players want?

Ok, the name is similer to Codein's thread, only differance is that i posted it lol.

Basically, i want to know what you want, personally i dont want anymore RPG Servers, Modern Servers or Classic servers, we got enough, we need people to be original, and seeing as people dont think outside the box, i thought id post this and hopefully people will reply and all together we can form an awesome idea for what someone can work on as a Playerworld.

So please post any ideas you have, and what you want for a good player world, what would you class as a good playerworld.

I want to know, when you go on a server, what do you want and expect it to offer and have to do, and what would you want to keep you occupied for large periods of time besides events.

Zz I want somthing that looks better than cheesy looking graal kingdoms and the rest of the classic servers. In other words I want somthing that looks like it comes off the SNES and actually looks somewhat professional instead of the same obvious ameture images.

Closes thing I saw to this was Relic..atleast from what I remember.

A good RPG server. Valikorlia doesn't have the work for items addition, on GK it's there but it's too difficult, and Maloria's full of noobs. Something more professional like WoW.

An idea me and Dach had was a 19th/18th Century server, with musketeers, muskets, cannons etc. (This could be merged with the Carribean pirates server).

What people tend to forget is that you can use graal servers as miniature games aswell, like having a tab in the server list for a bunch of minature games such as poker,chess ect. This could all be part of one graal gaming server where you can collect points and be in graalonline's official top ranking list.

Think off all of them normal minigames, from chess till snake and bomberman.

I like the Pirate theme idea, it could be a boat and island based playerworld.

Tactics would be cool if someone made it.

I had an idea to make a board game themed playerworld once. Basically, a big board game playerworld with tons of events. It would be just based around events only.

You can also use new server concepts. Most importantly -if you want to be original- try working out a nice body for the player ect. Like I said before take a peek at games such as Ragnarok,MU online,Staronline. They all have pretty nice characters.

Try making your server in a theme (e.g I think Chris is working on some Asian server.. pretty nice) wich can be almost anything. But when you do a theme make sure you work out the details and have kick ass graphics. If your gonne do a modern server stop looking at Era and wright your own book on the subject.

What is most important for me is that the server has:
-Very nice graphics (if e.g blookat or zero would make a server i'd be sure as hell to player it :P just cause the gfx would be nice, sorry for the artist that I left out)
-Basic collectables (Pets,Items,Playerhouses with furniture)

Anyhow a theme i'd realy like to see is a "platform" (side view) server like Maple Story. Done by a excelent pixelarts (go Tom)
I'm 100% sure it could work out very nicely if done in a proper manner.

Graal's low playerbase does not support new fun ideas.

No matter how fun, new, original, and exciting a server is, it's going to grow old pretty fast with less than 40 players on it.

I actually tried to make a side scroller a few months ago, and had a test tileset in the making. But i did'nt have the scripters to do it, the thing is, i had loads of cool ideas for a side scroller, but i did'nt think it would become a server people would make their home server.

Tha Caribean merged with 19th century cannons and muskets would be really good, if it has a good development team.
And also, ive been thinking about using my ultimate tileset which ive never shown anyone, and alot of other professional pixel artists have touched it up and added to it also, so it's pretty much the best I could probably post snippets.

Tom I'll help out if I can. I'm slowly but surely learning gfx but I'm a level editor by trade, once Stefan gets the mac editor up I'm golden to get back into the game. Until then, I suppose I'll just hone my skills in other areas. I really like the idea though!

Alright, so we have our hearts set on a caribean, pirates, muskets 19th century sort of server.

But before we dive into development and think we have everything, lets discuss who is helping, and what skills they have.

What the server will offer, what will be the objectives, ways to keep players entertained for hours, always something to work towards, but fun to work towards.

Throw in ideas related to this, and also, what other staff do you think you can attract to the development of this project?

If you can forfill these questions, we can fly away with this server.
