Does anyone have a completed Scripted-RC?

I'm looking for a Completed (or near) scripted RC for my server :x There are a few things I couldn't figure out how to do (Getting a player's flag list for an Attributes Editor, Deleting DBNPCs/GuiScripts/Classes) And also, my RightsWindow I made awhile ago doesn't work any more Now it just resets all the rights of the person :x

If anyone could either provide me with a completed scripted RC, or give me some insight as to how to go about doing those things, I would greatly appreciate it. (Damn I wish requesttext() was documented more )

Forum search is a wonderful thing, if you know how to use the advanced features correctly.

I hear a lot about tagged search databases to make search engines semantically user friendly ... that would make it so much better.

Yea, good job at pointing me in the direction of an RC that does not have the features I mentioned. I already knew about Stefan's post, and if you would have bothered to look at the content, you would have noticed that it is missing a lot of features.

Next time, make sure you know what you're posting before you try to make a whitty remark.

As he already pointed out, he said completed.

Next time, when commenting on others' wittiness, take care to spell 'wit' (and derivations thereof) correctly.

*looks around* It's obvious that I meant to misspell it!
Anyways, it's not like I was commenting on his spelling or anything anyway

At least my record is still upheld...
absolutely every time I have tried to post something helpful on the scripting forums this year, someone complains about it.
Are you all trying to tell me to not post something useful if I know an answer someone is seeking, even if I can phrase it in a way that conforms to the forum rules?
Because that is the tone I am sensing.
If you don't want me to post potentially useful stuff, say so plainly.
I have no problems with anyone not liking me, that's your loss.

Or perhaps there is something about gscript that simply attracts mostly rude people with over inflated egos who neither share all that much, nor want help, and with whom there is no right way to attempt to help becasue you and your ideas will only be criticized and rejected in a personally offensive and demeaning way. You know who you are. You know there is some truth to what I just said about you. And you probably are in denial about it. You are also likely so shrug this off and continue to prove me right.

I'm just a guy who wants to have fun with a cool online game, sharing what I figure out how to make, and helping where I can. But I see no sense in trying to help anyone through this forum for the above reason... which makes this scripting forum, in my opinion, mostly useless.

Dear Deity! Don't be such a whiner. He asked for a completed version, and you completely disregarded the word 'completed'. You ****ed up. Don't try to pin it on someone else when your mistake is pointed out.

Maybe it's because you don't think things through before giving blatantly wrong advice? (And might I remind you, you attempted to flame me for not using the search engine, so don't go around whining when other people tell you you're wrong.)

Stuff happens, get over it because you're getting off topic.
Now then, I do not believe there is a completed scripted RC unless someone else decided to do this themselves. RC2 will not be a GS2 script.

Also I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me a full documentation on the requesttext() and sendtext() functions. Lack of knowledge of these functions has prevented any urge I might have had to complete the RC because there are several situations on Aeon in which a customized RC would be much more organized but yet difficult to switch between the two RCs constantly.

An odd idea I thought of sometime earlier would be to have an RC executable that would open a low resource operating Graal "Applet", the basic framework to support the Gui Controls, that would allow you to connect to a server and load the GS2 Scripts for the server's RC. This way you could have a GS2 scripted RC program without having to load up Graal with it.

(i wanna apologize for how i wrote my very legitimate complaint of the repeated history of harshness against me only because it was written in an improper tone. i wrote it after a 13 hour work day and was very tired so i am sorry if i offended anyone. all i wanted to get across is that this scripting forum would be so much better is everyone treated everyone else with the same healthy dose of friendliness and respect. i am no more and no less special than anyone else here, so just try being fair and nice to everybody, such as gently correcting mistakes instead of some snide remark, is all i wanted to say, and you may be suprised how much better this place can become. and yes i will try to take my own advice)
However I want to thank Haunter and AtpothiX for proving me right as I predicted becasue you did as i thought you would:

Oh yes, why should people not like you after you kind of told them they are stupid even though you have no idea yourself. That's definatly most confusing, I agree.

Yeah, apologizing is cool, but no :emo: please.

Yes, please do that, see your first post in this thread for an example how it shouldn't be done.

Because you were totally right and totally didn't whine, yeah.

Anyway, don't complain if people are harsh to you if you aren't better to them.

Regarding the topic, someone (Stefan, probably) should definatly write down all the possibilities and of course what they are for (if it isn't obvious). There's no need for a perfect documentation, but atleast a reference so people don't need to try around/etc.
There's definatly a lack of information about some aspects of the new scripting engine.

Good job spelling my name wrong when it's right in front of your face. +10 Cool Points!

And by the way, if you'd look at my posts, I'm no meaner to you than I am to everyone else. If you don't like it, don't post crap advice. Now stop complaining, and get this thread back on topic.

On Topic:
I've realised it's currently impossible to make an attributes window using sendtext() and requesttext(). It is possible to load the flags of a player using: requesttext("playerflags", "AccountName"); but upon trying to do sendtext("playerflags", "AccountName", {"Flags"}); you get this nice little message on RC saying "Setting of player flags is not implemented yet."

Your posts have still been pretty abrasive; an example can be found at the beginning of the quoted post. I would advise you to try to cut that back a bit.

Getting back on topic would be a fair idea right about now. I didn't mention it earlier, but I, too, am interested in seeing what other folks have done with the scripted-RC, especially if there has been any progress with file uploading/downloading. I think it would be nice to have a centralized, official Client-RC script that people could use instead of having to complete it themselves.

We should set up a CVS server for a Client-RC

Do it the ol' fashioned way,
NPC Code:

set
unset
setstring

Yes, but that would be quite the pain in the ass, and slow and inefficient for people who have a large amount of strings.
