I am using an nVidia 6600GT. 32bit, 1024x768 (but graal isn't fullscreen). I usually have mIRC and AIM open, along with Google Talk and some cheesy printer software. I think (not sure) it may start happening when I being to move, but it will continue if I'm not moving. It stops happening in a second or a few seconds, and I can't make it happen again by walking around or anything. I haven't done anything unusual to make it happen to my knowledge.

Ok v4.01 revision 7 uploaded.
This time it should really help. For testing I have modified Graal so that ALL bitmaps were using alpha layer, to increase the number of textures used (fonts, light effects and some GUI objects are using 3D textures). The effect was that when connecting to Graal Kingdoms, some graphics were messed up for me, especially in the Q menu. After modifiying some options when creating the textures the problem has been fixed. Then I have changed it back to only use 3D textures when needed and uploaded the new version. Please test

This is funny, it reminds me of a glitch that sometimes happend with my old windows 95 comp. All the text in every program and windows itself would look like that ><

rev7 has given me the text probably again, but only for the text bar. Text sent was fine. Also, the nicknames of the users disappeared when the problem was happening.

Text messup and text disappearing are possibly two different problems. The text is sometimes disappearing for you (screenshots) ?

On Shaded Legend, when i log on sometimes the nicknames so not appear. I can't get this to happen on any other server however. It is fixed when i leave the level i'm in. No text messes up.

This other text mess up however (which also happened on SL) only effected the text box for a few seconds, but while the text was messing up, nicknames disappeared again. They happened at exactly the same time, so I would guess that this text messing up and the nicknames disappearing are related.

I can't guess at whether the above two nickname disappearences are related however.

That is with the latest version (v4.01 rev7) ?
For getting the gfx card: right-click on your desktop background and go to the last tab.
May be there should be some report-bug button in Graal which sends a screenshot and information about the gfx card to the server.

I have a computer with the same card, but Graal 4 loads fine on it.

Maybe make sure you have the latest DirectX drivers?
You can also find updated drivers for your card here:

Oh so it was a problem with the gfx driver?
May be we should make a page with the most common problems and also add links to the gfx driver downloads there for the most popular gfx cards

Could you have the client check to see if the computer has the latest graphics cards in question? If they don't, the client lets them know.

The Valve Steam client does this and it seems quite effective.

The directx version that Graal uses doesn't offer that option yet, but may be I could add some "hack" to temporary use directx9 just for requesting that. I am not sure when that will be done though.
