And they shouldn't. Don't assume that your server is being singled out here. Any server that features illegal graphics is breaking the rules.

Not really, since the classic style is the default and also the theme around which Graal is built.

Please everyone stay on-topic, including PWA or whoever. Please stop everyone discussing grammar, copyrights etc. whenever someone makes an interesting post. It really destroys the purpose of the forums. The rules are the rules and don't need to be discussed all few minutes, especially not on this forum. The only people who are allowed to do that are mods.

The screenshots look quite interesting , with the new characters, GUI and environment. The outside levels might need some modifications, there is too much gray right now it seems (if streets are gray then the buildings should get some colors). The theme is ok, all servers have weapons somehow and are just settled in different timezones. The style of the servers doesn't really resemble any Era stuff. May be it should have some uniqe things, I could think of sports games, missions etc., but that is up to the developers. Keep up the good work

For the most part I think it looks nice. The only critisism I have is the building in the first screenshot. I just don't think it seems to fit in with the rest of the tileset. It looks to flat and the windows seem odd. Also I'm not quite sure what the third screenshot is. Other than that I think it looks really nice.

Go onto graal classic and go into the tailor shop touch the green suit it says this looks like a character from another adventure game (OMG ZELDA!!)

On era if you look there is a character who uses the name CJ from grandthieft auto.

Not to mention many more im sure you get the point.

So much great ability, put into a gun server.

The reason people are jumping on your ass is because we have seen the spectrum of gun servers. Yes, there can be new, creative ideas, but we have seen the basic outline of the gameplay, and for those who aren't too into it, it is useless.

The screenshots are amazing, but in general the more mature and older crowd of GO enjoys a roleplaying aspect to a server, with a certain effect. Lord of the Rings-esqe, if you will. When I play Era I see a lot of newer players, or 12-14 year olds who think it is fun to be a 'gangster' and shoot people.

None of us care too much for the immature newer players, although almost all of us were one at a point in time.

It is just frustrating to see a server with such obvious talent (staff wise) be used for a purpose that most of us do not enjoy.

That being said, it is your server and you are obviously free to do with it as you may, regardless of my, or anyone else's opinion.

I was just trying to offer you a little more in-depth description of my feelings, and what in interpret the feelings of some others to be.

they are trying to spring a role playing kinda thing with the names not to mention manual reloading and what not to make it more realistic they also are trying to make the fighting mroe realistic i know its hard to make gun fighting more realistic but they are triyng to keep a fight from lastning a good 10 min like era. There is going to be more stuff but right now our biggest challenge is the overworld...speaking of that i should get back to leveling i will leave you with these last worlds.

If you think atrius and era are the same thing you need a hearing aid glasses and a new nervious system.

Mykel you have a good point, and all of this has been considered. This is why were are trying to do away with centering a server on that gangster shoot-em-up theme. I know a good portion of the graal population is attracted to the non pk servers, and Atrius will be both.
As far as battles go, on Atrius you can seriously destroy someone with some sort of melee weapon even if they are using guns. This isn't like era where you can keep shooting infinite bullets until everyone is dead. You carry clips, which you have to load yourself, and if you cant hit the person enough then its time to switch over to melee.
Atrius will have as strong as a PK environment as Era, but enough activities, jobs, and quests to keep the non-pk population very occupied as well. We are planning out a full housing system, a business system where players must aquire many different thinsg to open a business, dozens of jobs, numerous quests, and countless hangout environments where players can just relax and chat, or RP if they wish. (and yes, we will have openings for RP staff) Paintball is going to be our server-wide sport, with different leagues, teams, tournaments, and stat tracking. Theres going to be many other activities like clubbing (you will have to learn different dance moves), bowling, building your house up, etc etc. Trust me, it won't be another noob PK waste.

EDIT: I might as well put the word out now, I am hiring an RP Admin to help us mold our systems to make way for RPers. Basically, this job will require someone that knows the ropes of RP and can come up with ideas to develop the RP side of the server. Stop by if your interested.

I watch a great deal of animation. Just about every animation I watch is very original from the others I watch... Why can't the same be here? Why can't we come up with new ideas? There is soo much stuff to come up with; it is the main reason I never finish a project. I have one great idea, then I come up with another great idea, then another....why do you people do the same things over and over again?

PLEASE come up with something new. The server looks nice but the concept sucks balls. Guns aren't the issue here - the THEME is the issue here. I could create a game with a LOTR type theme, yet people use guns and there are some other differences. Why do guns ALWAYS have to go with a modern theme? Come up with an alternate reality. Create something that is different then what they should go with. Mix and match. But don't - I repeat, DON'T - do the theme you're using.

Of course, you won't listen. No one ever does. But at least think about it.

screens4u. I started one of the subdivisions today. These are the prebuilt, prefurnished houses that, of course, cost more because everything is already purchased and built. Players will be able to design their own too. Probably wouldn't want these guys hanging around your house...

Maybe guns arnt the centeral core of the server? Maybe there is other content? maybe people like to pk but it would be retarded to have them swinging swords in a modern world?

I see what you mean, yea there is a lack of arm sprites, also the walking down on atrius is not so great. Madj will soon have a lot of time for atrius though, which means plenty of time to fine tune the bodies sprites.

The way I see it, 90% of the servers are using a body where two little balls are haphazardly swinging below a chubby little torso, with an oversized head. The reason we aren't critical of it is because we don't pay attention to it. People now are so used to fluid movements and don't look back on the old days where games had two different walking sprites. These actually have the same amount as the classic body. These bods were made for the sole purpose of custom looks, and to go back now would require revamping the hundreds of clothes sprites. It can be done, but only if it really matters.

Well the problem with that is the classic bodies are not meant to look and move realistic. They're supposed to have that comicy non-proportional look.

I get the feeling you would want yours to be realistic, so I commented that they need improvement. That sucks you did a whole bunch of clothes sprites but if you should have perfected something before moving on to additions to it.

Maybe it's not a big thing in the end, but I dislike them a lot and it would bother me to the point of not playing the server because of it.

These are pics from our most popular time, Atrius 1. The previous pics are from Atrius 3 (current). No, we didn't skip 2, and 2 was indefinitely better than 1 but wasn't near as popular, because era was slowly coming back during that time. During peak hours we would have anywhere from 30-50 players, and our maxplayers log hit 60. Hold on, you might die laughing at the pics.

The simple truth about the Atrius bodies is that they look like walking corpses.
Elbows and legs need to bend more and look less like the player's character is embalmed.
