Maybe Im the only one who thinks this way, but....

With everything that is in planning or has changed in the past, classic is moving further and further away from being "classic". The way i see it the server has the name Classic because it was the original server and contains what graal once was. However it has changed so much over the years and will be changed in the future with all of these new quests/items and such...that it wont be "classic" anymore (except for the core levels). Maybe "Graal The Adventure" was a better name for the server as it better described it.

Most people seem to think that change is neccessary in order for the server to survive. I think that going back to what we once had (before all the new hera stuff) with the hearts in zols toilet, midas realm, sordons, etc... would be best for the server.

The things that need to be changed are the way it is run(i dont mean who is running it, how it is run) and what it revolves around. Classic used to be centered around guilds, so why not go with this and make this happen again. Im sure people can think of better ways of doing this, but ideas that pop into my mind are things such as guild centered events, an overall guild sparring rating, an overall guild kill/ death ratio count, ease in having wars by adding a counter in SNs guild war room counting how many times someone in a given guild has died(that way there can be an actual winner, instead of everyone saying they won. I dont think ive ever heard someone say theyve lost a guild war). I dont know if all that is possible, but you get the idea....

From the things ive heard masterstorm talk about, i think he wants to make guilds the central part of classic....but it doesnt have to be done by making all new quests. Ive been around a long time, and ive rarely heard someone say they enjoy questing...it was so much easier to spend 2-3 hours getting all the items and be ready to pk/spar/join a guild.

So why not spend all your time improving things like i mentioned before instead of wasting it on quests that will only be a hassle. I mean, so what? we have all these new quests but theres still nothing to do when you are finished with it. Even if the quests are well done, which im sure they will be, there would still be that problem of having nothing to do after questing.

Of course in order for that to be possible, we would need to return to the old movement/ hit detection system(people are stubborn and dont like to learn new styles of fighting)...which i dont even know is possible without having to re-do everything.

Anyways, thats just my 2 cents...thought i would share

Classic was based around guilds, and because of the decline in playercount, and the rise in global guilds, we lost touch with this. What I suggest would be a guild fort for guild wars (as there is no other suitable location for guild wars), which would follow the same rule of kill rating as Hoss suggested.

As for individual players, I think they should bring back the playerkills and playerdeaths webpage which indicated who had top stats on Classic.

I disagree when Hoss says quests aren't important. I believe having good quests gets the player hooked, and then they will stay and wait with excitement for the next quest.

Thats my quick reply to Hoss' post.

yeah, i think i agree with you... Its important to have good quests because thats what gets a player hooked....but classic wouldnt need to hook anyone. We would be trying to bring back the people who left, which would then raise our player count and thus attract newer players(Just like UN does).

And like you said, guild wars dont have to be the standard kill kill kill. We could think of new ways of warring like the fort thing.

I think the only way for Classic to ever get back into the loop of things is for it to be free to trials... but limited in a way, like they cannot be staff, have anything uploaded, get some items, and other things.

Considering that the only NPCW besides the Staff Tools and GC Prizes is PermaClothes, Classic is free for trials as it is right now. So Zippy, I guess you are wrong. I bet 50% of the playercount are trial users.
