If you want to play the classic servers, and post on the forums, go VIP
If you want to play the gold servers, get gold

My advice is don't upgrade until Classic is phazed(sp?) out.
I have gold and I have absolutely no reason to want VIP other than making a guild.

If classic is phased out I doubt half the people who are here now will play the game anymore. When I signed up for this, it said UNLIMITED CLASSIC.
And to stay on topic, I would go for VIP.

true; it did indeed say unlimited at it would be a breach in contract for them to do as such.
i guess they could change what classic is to avoid legal issues.

I had no idea that the word 'unlimited' held some arbitrary reference to time.

unlimited means it had no limits and thus no end and thus forever and thus does hold "some arbitrary reference to time"

And you write a news publication? -_-

When internet providers offer "unlimited access", do you think they are claiming that it will last forever? That as the dying embers of our mother sun wink into nonexistence, their servers will still be standing ready to process your requests?

No. In fact, they are merely saying that there are no limits to how much data can be transferred. The meaning of the term 'unlimited' must be determined by context. If it is simply referring to the ability to access a service then it is unreasonable to assume that there is any temporal component.

"unlimited access to classic playerworlds"
THEORETICALLY means that until classic playerworlds are phazed out, you will still be able to play on them.

In other words, it means you can play on them without restrictions until they stop being free and unrestricted.

Pretty sure you only need VIP to work on UC servers. I worked on one when I only had VIP.
Unless they have changed it since then.

I interpretted the unlimited access to classic as... You have access to all classic servers.

In the sense, Guest accounts has unlimited access to the playersworlds, however, the unlimited on classic accounts could reflect to the fact that guest account's data don't saved, whereas the classic accounts have their accounts saved (without a waiting time. I don't know if they removed that for guest accounts). So, unlimited classic would be interpretted as constantly saving the account until closure of the company (perhaps up to when they sell it to someone else [or themselves, just different company name]). Though, doing so will be catastrophic to Graal -- It seems just lately they are recuperating from the loss of playercount caused by the P2P Movement.

Unfortunately, Graal doesn't care about playercount anymore. What they do care about is profit. Graal is no longer a community game, but a business product. They are taking advantage of the fact that they were a community game, having nearly their entire product being produced by volunteers for free.
