Spark910 has a spectacular aura about
Nice, but it looks like there will be lots of wasted space due to the shape of it.

Actually, I had some other ideas for what was going to be on it, so it's not going to be so blank, and it won't waste gameplay space because I have sort of a diablo II -esque light radius script, so it won't really be blocking anything either.

The font is called Cyberotica. >.>

Give the wood more texture.
Give it a lightsource instead of pillowshading!

I find it hard to fit in stats in that kind of GUI.

The GUI isn't going to need to fit alot of information, it's all given in seperate menus. >.> This GUI is just a HUD of vitals and a few other various things, as well as there will be another one just like it, in the opposite corner of the screen and it is 180 degrees from this one and has a different display. >.>

I still think there is way too much empty wasted space in the GUI, but it's looking better every update you show us.

The numbers for health/fatigue/etc in the screenshot you show need a different font and not so bright colors, I think.

Meh. Personally I don't like it. Not much effort put into shaping it I can see. Though I do like the attached buttons, that's about it. The wood texture you used isn't eye pleasing, try doing something else with that. The shading on the leaves isn't very pleasent either, try using a different tone of green. Maybe olive? Meh.

*sighs* I never get a break, do I? :x

By the time I am "done" with the GUI everyone will like it but me.

Not much effort into shaping it? Tell me your favorite shape, and I'll start over from scratch and make the ScottUI.

Favorite shape? I don't have one. As well, what I mean is you didn't put much thought into having a practical shape, or one that reflect the design. You can have many shapes aside from the simple one you used... Mix and match, dude.

It's a right triangle with diagonal buttons, I put alot of thought into it, and it's very practical for what I have planned, I personally find that it reflects the design of the GUI quite well, and more importantly, the design of it's intended use.

I apologize for not being you scott, I prefer more conventional design to your more abstract style. So because I made this a more conventional shape and not a snail shell, I am to be labeled inferior?

Furthermore, your idea of a snail shell GUI is more "practical" than a right triangle with a wooden border?

Yes, yes, yes, all of those quick doodles were "Snails." Way to observe. I'm not abstract at all, so lay off with that stereotype. I'm not calling you inferior, just lacking imagination. I'd rather look at something interesting and fun than a right triangle. Ofcourse, I'm just a fanboy for originality. Forgive me.

I've seen your artwork, most of it is pretty abstract, it wasn't a stereotype, it was a judgement by what I've seen, and do forgive me for not making my art pleasing to your eye. If using a basic right triangle for a GUI makes my imagination inferior to your own, than pardon me for favoring simplicity, I guess I just suck because I don't have your similar interest for garish artwork.

I will go shoot myself in the head now, because obviously I don't deserve to have an artistic opinion, much less another breath.

Whoa, calm down man. It's alright, but its just lacking that something that catches your eye.

Also, its great that it looks good to you, but if 75% of your potential consumers don't like your product, it might be a good idea to change it around until everyone is happy and wants to use your product.

Spare me. I've heard it all too often, and while all I did was give my opinion, you took it personally. Get some self confidence instead of an ego; loose the "I do because I like it" routine. Seen it all too often.

I consider myself a nice guy, but your attitude drives me up the walls. I am equally tired of hearing "change this, do that, because I think this is dumb, and that is not how I like it.".

Hypocrite.

I think I was very compromising through this whole thread, people made suggestions, and I made changes, but now, after all that, to insult someone and call them "unoriginal" or "uncreative" etc, because one person has distaste for a particular shape? That's just imbecilic and crude. Also, I wouldn't even let it get to me, if he hadn't done this to me before, but I am seeing a pattern, with Scott, and a few other users, who insult nonchalantly and indirectly insult people and flame people and get away with it.

If you want to be rude and disrespectful, do it, do it in private messages, and straightforward, but don't sit here and handout indirect insults and blatantly rude sarcasm over something like personal artistic taste. I have a simpler style of art, Scott seems to prefer flashy art, is that a valid reason for him to try and bring me down?

Man, you didn't even read my original post I see. I wasn't saying "do this" or "do that", merely just suggestions. You have this amazing ability to take a simple post and transform it into something completely hostile, when it's not. I didn't say you, as a person, were unoriginal. Infact I didn't even bring up that word until you proceeded to critisize my critisism. (Lol?) Would you have preferred I lied and said I loved everything about it? I appreciate it when people point out flaws in my art, just because I know they actually looked at it. I wasn't even trying to bring you down... man, you have some self esteem issues or something. If you think I'm bad, post on a real art forum where there are people more blunt than I. You need to just calm down and stop taking critisism like it's an insult. Ya, I do have my own taste, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate other styles I might dislike. I use that motto for everything; music, movies, religion, etc. I know people have different values, but if you want to post on a public forum, expect people with different values to critisize you. Now, you can take it as positive feedback, or negative, depends on how diluted your mind is.

Nope not abstract but if you were something, you would be more surreal than anything!

That is a little bit more eye-pleasing. Still not spectactular or anything, but it looks improved and better.

Over time reading the Graal forums, you kind of learn not to take some members "insults" as hard as you are. I used to think members like Kai and Scott were real buttholes until I realized that they were just telling the honest truth and some people should just not get so offended so easily.
