Have a Guest board where Classic/VIP/Gold can post. It would be like all the other boards combined and can be deleted eventually.

The guest board would essentially be a NGTR/MAIN/LEVELS/GFX/GANI etc etc (ALL forums), as people would use it for anything. May as well give them all access. I think it would be better to just give access to some sections fo now.

If those categories were consolidated into one for guests, it would make it easier to moderate, though. Having one centralized location to moderate would be better than having to go through 4 or 5.

To expand on this, perhaps there could be an entire guest section that is split up into those categories?

Moderation shouldn't be a problem.
There is no reason to create a whole 'guest' section, and it would also force VIP\Gold subscribers to post there.

But whats the point in upgrading if you give them a section where they can post about everything...

Unixmad, would this be a permanent thing, or temporary for the holidays?

I think it is a good idea as long as there are enough restrictions
I think everyone should have full access to the tech forums and suggestion forums, I have for awhile, but it would need to be heavily/strictly moderated.

They should not be able to have avatars or signatures, or maybe all members who are not VIP/Gold would be assigned a specific avatar that they have no choice but to use.

I pretty much agree with Spark's post as far as which forums non VIP/Gold members should have access to, and 3 posts a day is good.

Playerworld Forum (limit 3 posts)
Graal Main Forum (limit 3 posts)
Tech/Suggestions (Unlimited with strict moderation?)
No signature or avatar (unless the avatar is a set one)

I do not agree with having a guest forum as it defeats the whole purpose of upgrading

Trial account
EDIT: Forgot people could register new trial accounts. Ignore me.

Classic account
-10 posts a day
-Sigs, can't change avatars or titles.
-Access all boards

My opinion, anyway.

EDIT: By access I mean post.

I dont agree with that
Trial accounts should not have access in my opinion at all, and you dont want to give classic members too much as it would just make them say "Who needs to upgrade for the forums, when we can post 10 posts a day, and have sigs (which is most important I think to most people), and access all the forums!"

The access and privilages need to be very limited, just to give them a taste, and maybe incourage more people to upgrade in my opinion.

Too many posts a day. 3 should be enough (for everything but Tech\Suggestions).

This is kind of relevant, but a bit of a tangent. I’m new to the forums and in the few days I have been here have really ‘enjoyed’ it, if that is the word. I have found it very helpful, particularly in the level editing level. Anyway, I don’t really have any intentions of playing Graal 2001/Kingoms/whatever, just classic but for the mean time I’m on a limited time at the forums as I have the Classic account.

What I was wondering is, would it be possible to buy a ‘lifetime Forum package’ because I don’t want to keep paying out for a gold Subscription, mainly because the main point of the Gold Subscription I wouldn’t be using.

So, uh ya, when my 6 months run out can something like that be arranged?

Phil

I doubt it, as it would make the Value of the Gold account decrease if you can just have it as forums. Personally I think GOLD/VIP should be merged and a few extra VIP things should be 'add-ons' but I think just Normal and Gold accounts are fine enough.

VIP is fairly cheap...so I see no reason to have one plan souly for forums access. I mean if you are going to pay for forums access, you might as well get the VIP plan...

It could be made so some forum sections can't be read unless you log in, so you need to upgrade to log in, so that way no trials can view things on here at all, and it is exclusive to GOLD/VIP and Lifetime (If/When added later)

Classic is 'lifetime' because you upgrade once and can always access classic servers (it doesn't run out after 6/12months like VIP/GOLD)

44.00 $ - 12 VIP+Gold Months

44 x 85 (suggested life span of men in America)

$3,774 , Lifetime VIP(GOLD).

Fortunately, you can do a 6 month GOLD, then Upgrade your VIP for 12$(? 19?) a year. So.. You could avoid the 3.77 k , and end up with from 1020-1615 , not including the initial upgrade (GOLD).

I however, do figure they would make it a tenth of the price, considering it is the "life" of Graal, not the consumer.

So, 15- - 19- would be fair (to be frank, would be fair 2-3 years ago.)

I honestly thing theres enough newbs on the forums with Gold and VIP only. Imagine how much worse its going to be when classic accounts are let on?
Classic accounts only need to be able to open support tickets.

Yeah, but I think it would be good to let more people on here as there aren't that many people really, and so more people could be better.

This has nothing to do with IQ, also a person being new has nothing to do with IQ

Trial accounts simply should not get access to the forums because they have not paid, period.
The forums are a priviledge for people who have paid for the game in my opinion.

I think this is a great idea. I've noticed that the forums are not as active as they were 3 years ago because once accounts ran out more than half didnt upgrade and now its more expensive. I've contributed a lot of time to graal to in helping out and it would be nice to come here and be able to post still
