GK Downhill... Re-release rare/dead items?

First off, yes this has been discussed before. Second, I don't care if you want to yell at me or not. But I would like your vote either way.

GK is going downhill... the older, richer, usually more-respected players are on their way out. Meanwhile those who still play find it hard to get items to better their character. Yes this is also a personal story but I've talked to many players who are in the same boat now.

When Sam re-released the 3 HSoH's months ago I was one of those lucky players to get one, and you know what, it really got me interested in the game. You might have ticked off a few people or so, but you gained some real dedicated players, like those I traded with.

The defense of not re-releasing dead items or rare items has always been, "those who have them will be upset." However, those who have them don't play, or don't want to trade them!

There's so many dead items you guys could spark interest with.

Hell, even release some of my items like my 1 of a kind (after ChrisGA left I think) Belt of Crystal Heart since the others are now dead.

I'm not saying make rare items common. But they should atleast be attainable in some fashion close to what they were originally planned to be.

Events being the main way to get items is stupid. GK is unrealistic, why can't a blacksmith decide one day "HEY ILL CRAFT A COOL STRONG DAGGER".

It should atleast be attainable in some form besides at the whim and mercy of an Event Master - that, or get some active EM's

Sam hired 3 new EM's today. So take that for whatever it's worth.

I think it's ok to release some of the old items, but still keeping them rare. Also, don't go crazy and release EVERY inactive item. Maybe a few.

And some items should be one of a kind.

May I please direct you to the part where I said "close in # to their original intent."

Also, what items are one of a kind?

GK is how you wish to percieve it. You could look at the fact that it's mildly stagnating and think "OMG DOWNHILL" but if you take into consideration the new magic system and the attention it's getting now more frequently than before you can think "omg improvements".

I'm more concerned with the fact that you can get to the point where you can't do anything on the server anymore to better your character.

And the reasoning of this is to try and put a number on how people percieve it.

I'm all for it. And although I am, in fact, one of those EMs that Sam hired (he actually hired four, myself, geovanie, deek, and raziel), I'd also support the items being attainable in a way besides events. How about some stuff like the Christmas event? Start up one of those every once and a while and offer remakes of old/dead items as prizes. I understand that the problem with this is that it will essentially flood the market, but it could work for some of the items.

I recruited 3 new and reactivated one old EM.
We will see how active and creative they will be now. I don't have a problem giving valuable items as rewards. If there is a good reason for me I will do it (a good and interesting RP event is a good reason).

At last a game is always as good as the players. Not only good items make a game interesting! Lots of other things are important too (one is fantasy).
Stop grumbling about the game and the developers and start to (role)-play!

I know for a fact that Raz and I can get CP up for any RP event, pretty much anytime. Forest has shown interest in RP events for a long time as well. Say the word and I'm sure we can get something together.

How about some semi-rare items?
You know, some good items for newbs instead of event items. Maybe you could buy a scroll or something that has a chance of changing an ordinary weapon into something nice.

Get with me in game, Cid. I want the Forest navy to actually -do- something.

I don't see why some of the oldies can't be put into the event coin shop list. I still find it funny that Ice Daggers and Flaming Ice Daggers are getting more and more valuable when you used to be able to craft them. And yet Inferno Daggers weren't at all, and there's no major stat difference except for the fact that it's fire. I also find it amusing that Talefung and Inferno are the same, except for the fact that one is Poison while the other is Fire. Yet Talefung is rarer, because there has only been one released.

That's just one of a lot of reasons I think it's stupid to have them occasionally released, specifically because they aren't released often enough.

Let's all participate in a fun filled event! Bury Bag dig! Just bury the rarest items in GK and let random people find them!

i agree

i agree Gk needs more items.
to be honest personally no items should be rare.
Hard to get.. yes but not ever ever u can only get 1 in the game.
Only decent weapons to get area probably the really rare ones.
monsters should drop items and with an increase in luck maybe even drop good items.
people should be able to go mfing (magic finding, basically hunt for items) from monster drops. fair enough trade and get items in events. but you should make monsters drop weapons too.
that way everyone has a chance to spar. it won't be easy to get really really good. but stick at it you can be.
Graal is against people buying items with real cash... then make it available to them then! it's obvious ppl buy for cash because those items are the only ones of their kind. Gk as a game should allow all players to have a chance at something. such as getting great items, i've over 1000 hours. and still i don't know how i got my items.. more and likely pure luck in events. but i feel sorry for the average graalian gamer.

Enemy drops is not the answer. Nor is re-releasing items via certain special events. Granted, it does quell the demand for a few rare items, but in the long run, it doesn't solve things when the items eventually dissapear on a dead account or to a shop NPC. Much as I'd like to re-release some antiques, It's not my call, and besides, I don't really see it solving a whole lot in the future.
