This somewhat happens to me to. It takes several tries for it to remember that I've signed in after leaving the "Thanks for logging in" page, and then if I leave the site, it immediately forgets me.

Have you tried logging in on another website which navigates and needs to remember a password? If it doesn't remember the password your settings are some what incorrect.
