Well, that all depends on how much the owner is on their server. I would be on my server all the time, or at least have an instant messenger set up to alert me when one of my staff messages me for anything.
Think about it this way, would you rather be the only person with full ftp, and have things be delayed a bit, or would you rather have 3 or more other people have ftp that could go nuts one day and wipe out everything on your server and sell all your scripts and levels on 2k1 or something.
Then you have the unhappy staff, that decide to quit, and feel that it's necassary to remove everything they ever made/fixed/thought of.
Stefan puts a lot of faith in the people he gives power to. Think about it, would you ever give BIRDBIRD ftp and full access to your server?
