there are only 2 themes and it takes effort to add new ones
why didn't they just save the cool green theme?

You can add your own. But I agree with you. Graal v2 back in 2001 was the best looking client as far as login and server selection go imo. Sure it's nice with a news feed and subscription info, but I don't really care of it. I just want to join a server and play anyway.
