It pretty much is.

Zodiac has started a trend, and while it might not be good to continue the trend outside of Zodiac, trying to break the trend on Zodiac would just be a waste of time. All new swords would look like ****, no matter how well they are drawn, compared to the big massive swords. Players want to show this stuff off, and no one wants puny swords. It's better to just conform to the rest of the server in this case, in the end it's not like it's really hurting anyone.

If people have a problem with large swords, take it up with servers who are just starting out and doing the same thing. Catch it early when you have a chance to reverse it. But really, it's a tired argument. Sure, swords like this take it to the extreme, but in the end as a pixel artist it can sometimes be unsatisfying to work in such small limitations that we can't even draw what we envision and lose most of the details. Like I said, players enjoy dragging around huge-ass swords and showing them off, anyways.
