I think the main reason for that is most of the old players don't feel like there is a server worth playing on. The closest I found was Classic except that it's so far gone from what it used to be it's just not the same.. that and it doesn't have much of a player base.

I personally think we'll see any version of 2k1 around the same time we'll see Duke Nukem Forever.

Why don't you guys just let it run its course first off yes it was a great server but 9 times out of ten a remake is never as good as the original if it comes out I wont expect it to be good I wont expect it to be great. It will popular for one month then I say it will be desolate a week or two later. Look what happened when the last bomy server was realest how long did that last?

The problem with the last bomy server was it was the same exact server with only very minor changes.

For a bomy server to make it now they basically need a server that has a similar look and feel to the original 2k1 but is completely different than the original. Otherwise you run into the problem where players have done it all already and the coolness wears off after a couple of weeks as it's just the same old thing they got bored with before.

What ever floats your boat but I just don't want the staff making the same mistake several others have in the passed and why their servers were busts. Also I don't mean change your server name every month like some do just once every decade. Yet it hasent been a decade its close enough.

Uhhh... Bomy Island has never been released... why would it get a name change before it even comes out? It's been like what... two years in development? That's nowhere near a decade man. I don't think you grasp an understanding of just how much work and time goes into making a good server on Graal.

All you're suggesting is that the name gets changed... for what? To possibly fool people into thinking it's a new server?

Bomy Island was used because it was reminiscent of Bomy Moon and for the fact that in this version, the moon got turned into an island. Bomy Island was always supposed to be a re-imagining of Bomy Moon, with more of the original 2k1 feel. It doesn't take place in the same time period or even same universe. It's like an entirely different take on the greatest server (in my opinion) that Graal ever had.

All I originally wanted to do was take the things that made 2k1 fun, and change the things that made 2k1 not so fun... put it all together into one quality, cohesive package for people to enjoy. It could have been great, and it still has the potential to be, if people show some determination.

If I had the time available I would have loved to come back and finish it, but it's just not possible. My life is hectic right now and I'm having to pick up and move what appears to be 3 times in the next year. But I do wish the team all the best of luck and hope that they finish it... I would love to one day stop by and play it and see everything implemented and possibly even be surprised to see new things that I never even dreamed of.

I agree it is totally different but yet 2k1 was nearly 10 years ago so it was graal2001 but it has bomy for quite sometime it could be cool if it would be different

My best memories on graal are from g2k1. I remember that the first thing I got when I got cable internet was log in at g2k1 and be like "wow... finally I can play besides on weekends", so nerdy. Loved to make bread, milk, farming, trade hats, quests... good times, too bad it died for the lack of updates, similar to gk situation. I'm sure it wouldn't have died if they keeped releasing hats and other stuff.
