Don't worry guys, unixmad loves the forums right now. There's hardly anyone left that voice their true opinions anyway.

Giving forum access to people with lifetime classic probably wouldn't cost Graal much money. However, it also wouldn't put much activity into the forums. People with lifetime classic (back when you could still actually buy lifetime classic) got forum access for quite a while and it didn't make much difference to activity levels.

Most of them didn't know they could.

i thought Graal was about being a community, yet we discriminate those who can't afford to keep paying UNIXMAD money.

And this would change if we went back somehow? Even now, there are plenty of subscribers who don't even know about the forums. The classic accounts aren't needed. Even if just everyone with some sort of gold subscription posted, there would be huge activity. But they don't. And even though I've tried, I can't get them to.

Unixmad and Stefan, both do read the suggestions on these forums, but they do not have to be insulted.
Calling Unixmad greedy is not an insult. And if you kept reading my post you would have notice i said i don't mean to be a jerk (i used another word but that is not the point). I am more than happy with what Unixmad and Stefan have provided us. I however do think if they were to maybe make a better option for people to get on the forums that would make everyone a lot more happier.

Once again i'm not insulting unixmad but i am however very pissed about the fact that i am starting to have to pay for everything. Nothing draws more people than a 2 for 1 deal trust me i know i'm a customer.

These forums are a privillege and part of the features you get when you pay for graal. Be noticed that these forums cost money too to run.(Vbulletin)

This is relevant only if you believe Graal is making more money from having the forums be part of the subscription package than they would from having them be available to lifetime classic accounts or "everyone".

Actually i kinda take back that forums cost money statement as i figured out this is a owner liscence.

Nevertheless its still part of their features list. More money, probably not.

It does confuse me how we have forums for various classic servers yet classic account can't post in them (I think?).

Activity has gone down a bit. Before, Graal could pull off the forum p2p thing because G2k1 and later on GK were popular....now they got nothing.

give it time, I'm sure graal just needs one project to be done and if it's done right, they're getting somewhere.

Nothing is really said here anymore to encourage someone to want to post. Most discussions are overly moderated, there's a ridiculous amount of content deleted as spam, ect. Most servers have their own forums which allow more free discussions.

Besides, nothing exciting happens on Graal that you'd want to talk about on a forum really.

Activity was higher in July than in June (and the forums were P2P-only for half of July). Though it went down in August.

The simple fact is making these forums pay to post is a small notch in the list of "ways not to run a MMORPG" that the Graal administration has been adding to over the years.

Making them free won't do much now, because the community is pretty disinterested in Graal in general. Even if 20 more people posted here on a daily basis, the community would still be far from lively.

Wasn't V5 announced to be released in July? Might explain that, but Classic accounts were able to post during that time too.

What about September?

No, forums should cost. It'll keep all those damn newbies from flooding the forums. Not to mention that the forums are a feature that should only come when you buy a product, like a warranty of sorts. The only reason other MMORPG's offer them for free is because they don't see the huge potential in income a business can make by charging for the official community. Pull your heads out of the toilets and open your eyes to how much of a benefit you're receiving by paying for access to these forums; like your chance to get recognized by Unixmad and/or Stefan.

I say let it be free but highly restrict content for the non-registered accounts, like allow them to view the general forums only but not the development ones. Also allow them to post only once every hour.

You're right, because someone doesn't upgrade every year, they're a noob who doesn't deserve to have the 'benefits' we do.

Is Graal the only game you play? Look at all those free MMORPGs out there that also have free forums. The ones that look and play better than Graal. They're not looking for income, so why should Graal?

Sorry, /sarcasm
It seems if you post logical, educated and respectful complaints, Unix completely ignores them. I thought I'd try another tactic and maybe catch his attention.

No MMORPG are free, it always costs money they just recieve there revenue somewhere else as in advertisement or a certain game (Which will remain uname due to forum rules) which has a cash shop players can buy stuff from.

Don't talk just to see your own text.

Sure, there are cash shops on free MMORPGs, but the initial payment for the main benefits is free, and even using said cash shops won't give you any benefits like, oh, I don't know, forums. There are lots of decent MMORPGs out there that are free but feature optional cash shops. Besides, it's not like they're all saying "30 bucks yearly please" and then coming up with lame excuses as to why.

I think this is why we can't talk about other games, because there are free ones out there.

That would be ok, but the game itself costs money, so why should we be paying for 20 different things just to enjoy it to it's fullest?

You're making it sound like having a subscription system is rare, when most of the big MMORPGs charge subscription fees.
