In light of recent changes, and the likelihood of there being another drought of updates, I propose that the inventory get some attention. It's incredibly outdated, cannot be customised (save for transparency), and ultimately a headache.
I have some suggestions of what a the new inventory could include that the current doesn't have or doesn't do well:
- The statistics and current equipment sections need to be separated from the inventory menu and of course then be attached to another hotkey. This would better allow the next point.
- The inventory to be completely expandable and retractable both horizontally and vertically.
- Containers, once opened, to have their own separate window so that they may be individually expandable; thus allowing the next point possible.
- Multiple containers can be opened at the same time, allowing for easier item transference between containers.
- Dropping filled containers onto an npc and thereby engaging a sale opens a yes/no prompt asking whether or not the player would like to sell the entire contents of the sack.
This would allow for players to sell multitudes of items a lot faster than currently possible.
- When stacked items are equipped and unequipped they should not fall to the bottom of the inventory.
This would be a minor issue after the expansion and retraction issue is fixed as scrolling can easily be avoided and hotkey's attached to items
- The inventory menu should be 'on top'. Currently when a player is in-line with an item in your inventory, and you right click that item to bring up it's stats, you instead right click the player and bring up their player profile.
This is annoying.
- Holding the mouse over the now 1 decimal placed numbers in the statistics should bring up the accurate totals of experience and also the amount remaining until the next experience level.
These are all the changes I can think of right now that if were implemented, would be great for something so core to the gk experience.
