Yes... websites do it, so why can't Graal? Having a banner here or there on free servers can make you a lot of money over time, while still keep the people because they would rather view a couple of banners instead of waiting in ghost mode... Companies would definately be interested in advertising on graal, I mean, look at the hundreds of people that play it each day.. It is a tremendous money making opportunity.

Also this was mentioned before, but I know many people who do not upgrade because they do not want to give out their credit card information. This was my case for a very long time... Perhaps maybe have many ways to pay other then through credit cards... such as mail, phone, money order, etc. I really believe that adding these ways to pay would get you tons of new players to sign up.

Oh yeah, another reason why people aren't upgrading is because they don't know about Graal... Maybe it would be a good idea to hire/ask a few people to go around to chat rooms all over the internet and spread the word about Graal... How will this help though? Well it's true that you will just get tons of people using free accounts, but many people in that whole bunch will want to upgrade their account, but they can't, since no one has told them about Graal.

But the main reason that people are not upgrading is that they have been disgusted with Delteria being shut down, and are boycotting upgrading an account... Nah I am just joking around, but Stefan if you have time, please read my forum pm and email that I sent to you concerning Delteria; we have been waiting for many many weeks to hear something from you, but we have not yet had a final answer.

I agree with paragraph 1.

Paragraph 2: You can pay by sending in a check. It just takes a long time.

I agree with paragraph 3.

Paragraph 4: You might be just joking, but that is the worst attempt at a joke I have ever read in my life.

Yes Affiliation programs can be good
Advertising might sound good but the market
is controled by a few companies which means
like no money, and getting single companies
putting ads directly in the game is not easier.

The lag can only be because the connection between
graalonline.com and your ISP is slow or you have a slow
modem, not sure why, but me and other people have
like no lag. Do many people have that problem?

Yes the sitation about delteria is not easy,
icepick did some bad stuff but don't want to give
the server to someone else.

Ad:s is a good idea, what about this, an ad pops up for free players every 10 minutes and it stays there until they click it.

Limitation of membership in only one guild if you have a free account? Can't add/remove members from guilds with a free account?

Why not make a 15 second delay when they connect with information about P2P account.

Stefan, i have ADSL 256k/64k connection with the main company
on Brazil, all internet data pass by that company.
on Brazil sites the max ping i got was 120ms.
but with graal i always Get 300ms.

i think it is it NOT* slow, but my graal run slow a lot.
only do not run slow when for some reason the npcs on level don't load, then i run fast a lot.

ps: i answered the pms u sent me, go read it.

Ono, Stefan is evil because he doesn't let people, who do nothing to help him, play his game which costs him and unixmad lots of money ... ... >.<

I really doubt NPC Server would help to reduce the lag on classic. All scripts would need to be send to the client anyways, and the images are still shown to the client with NPC Server... so what's the point? And having many gifs (or even pngs) on the server does not cause lag either, because if you have them, the server won't keep sending them to you (I think )...

Its not the servers lag usually, its just people's computers, large amounts of scripts lag, having every npc on classic does not help out your lag, i dont notice any connection lag difference between Classic and any other server (only slow computer)

Yeah, the advertising thing could be tricky, but with some effort I think we could get it to work... Even if you don't get a lot of money, a little bit here and there would add up to a lot of money over time, and at least it would be getting a little bit more from the people who play free servers without upgrading. If this idea were to work, it may be a good idea to have an "Advertising Team" who would be responsible for changing the ads and what not. (I am just throwing ideas out, maybe someone can develop a good plan with them.)

Graal doesn't lag for me, that is only when I maximize the window... When it is regular everything goes slow, and I am wondering if everyone knows or not that maximizing the graal window and setting the properties in the options would make it lag a whole lot less.

Yeah, Ice Pick has done many bad things... As much as I want to get everything settled involving Delteria and get it back up with new ownership, I understand you have been very busy, but when you get free time maybe we could work everything out? I just feel sorry for the 130 + people that played there every day; they can't play on their favorite server because Ice is stubborn Just let me know when you are able to sit down with SP Agent and me and discuss all of the issues going on, thanks again Stefan

Why does graal2001 have next to no lag?

Use that for classic? The people on classic are the ones that are going to be the ones upgrading, seeing as the ones on graal2001 already have. If they aren't satisfied with the "trial server," why would they want to play anymore? I've seen many people go this way.

I also think that server owners should take some initiative to encourage their loyal players to upgrade their accounts now... If you think about it, having your players upgrade their accounts won't make you lose players, since there is already a limit to how many players can be on each server (500 free players I believe)... If lots of people begin to upgrade, perhaps Stefan won't have to keep enforcing the ghost mode since he will begin making the money that he needs to run Graal. A common state of mind is "why upgrade when I can play on this great playerworld for free?" and many people do not read the forums so they don't know what is going on. I am just saying that if someone encouraged them such as the owner of their favorite server, then perhaps they would take it into serious consideration.

Classic is a little laggy, but it's not too bad for me... Have you tried maximizing your graal window? That usually makes things run faster and smoother.
