Greatest Junk ever!

Well, this is the Junk Boat I began for GK shortly before I left, I probably won't ever even get on GK again as I'm never buying gold again, but I thought I'd show it to you all. Also I'm gonna finish it so you can all enjoy it, will I do more graphics in the future? perhaps!

Enjoy, it was one of the best peices I ever did.

It's really good, but I can't really see it on GK. It doesn't really match GK's more simplistic style.

I don't even remember, I use textures and stuff so not all that long, but I'm gonna finish within a few weeks hopefully, all 4 views and sails.

heres what I'm thinking for the sails lemme know what u think.

Get rid of that tongue thing. The boat seems like a boat and the tongue seems too organic and not...well boat like.

If you had someone with Blookats skill in painting scenes... or maybe if you had David himself chained up (hahaha as if) and forced him into constant graphical labor to do it all then it could happen.

Thanks for your kind words Paul, but I really don't care if he uses it or not. Honestly GK never used half the stuff I've made for them, so do as you will. Also I'll add a lower deck door and steering wheel later. Just because he uses it doesn't mean GK can't, though they won't

I can't really recall anymore than a few things made for GK by you, although the majority of them were used.

It's not my decision, but I would personally say the boat is too ornate, the style is too different, and your shading is too different - the whole thing is simply too different; it would stand out like a sore thumb.

There were a few things I made that they used, here are some of them they did not.

The gold and silver shields may have been, I don't remember, I'm thinking they weren't though.

yeah, it probably will stick out however, I tried simulating what it'd look like it game with the water transparency and stuff looks pretty cool, doesn't fit in completely but enough in my opinion.

The biggest problem is when it's near shore, or when a player or players are on it.

I think the scale indentations are really nice, but as a piece I don't like it at all for some reason. I'm not sure if it's the textures used, the perspective or the overall design, but unlike others I'm just not feeling it

Cover up the front end of it. Does that change anything for you, Rufus?
Covering up that detail leaves you with the form and the textures.
If you still don't like it, its probably the textures. Otherwise it's maybe going to be the distortion of the mouth on of the figure?

I feel as though it's a combination of all of those things. The mouth doesn't bother me all that much, but the tongue is a little cheesy and like you say, it is a little distorted. There are various other areas that are distorted too, but I feel as though that is just down to a quick cropping or something. The wood textures used aside from the mid-section don't seem to compliment each other and the colors are very contrasting compared to everything else. The (what looks like a..) bevel effect used inside of the ship wall seems very out of place too. The flagpoles look like woodchip and overall it just feels like a mess to me.
