ANOTHER Weapon GFX- Combat Pistol

Yup, here's another weapon I whipped up. I know its pretty bulky for a pistol, but it's not meant to be dual wielded.

I experimented with the diagnol directions, I don't know if they'll look too good in game, though. There's a magazine that can be used in the reload gani, or just size reference. In the middle are the up and down views. I know they're not all that great, but oh well

. Some of the weapons in game don't have all that great top-view sprites.

It does have some similarities, but mostly, the combat pistol has a bulkier shape. The assault pistol is more round.

I was thinking of doing something like that, due to it having a really long barrel, but anything I tried to fit onto it didn't turn out well. I think it looks fine without attachments.

The problem with sprites as small as these are is that they don't allow for much creativity. At least that's the problem I've always had. I think the creativity would be with ganis; making gestures like spinning the gun or tossing it as a trick.

I am presuming they are regular equip ganis? Could we also see Dual Equip? Also, would be interesting since you are ganing these yourself to see the fire gani. Something else I'm interested in is, are you going to be recycling already existing sounds for the fire, or trying to make a new Sound?

Maybe I could do a new sound, or I could edit/recycle one like I did for the plasma chaingun. I think I'll do a new sound. Also, I never intended for this pistol to be dual equiped. I wanted this weapon to be more like a side arm, like the dartgun or the darkpulsar on Gwars. It's way too bulky, and I don't think it would look right at all.

The fire gani would be hard to "screenshot", for obvious reasons.

Personally this weapon could be a lot better, the shading is very uneven, I agree that this does not fit Zone but more of era, here is my take on the weapon. Try smoothing the shading out, remeber that you are shading metal and not a rock.

Looks like a shotgun

Not all weapons are "nice and shiney," but I can mess around with the shading a bit and see if I can get some nice results out of it.

Edit: Oho..

I made it a darker shade overall, and smoothed out the "staticy" pixels that made the shading look odd.

I think the pistol itself just needs to be a bit smaller. It's pretty big (compared to the player), looks like a shotgun or something in the pictures you posted.

I purposely made it large, some pistols are pretty big. I made this one quite a bit bigger than most zone pistols, mainly because I wanted to made it known that it wouldn't be a dual wielded weapon. If it seems too odd, then note that zone's timezone is around 2300 AD, and by then, the design of weapons could change dramatically.

I edited some of the other angles, and here's some screenshots of the ganis with the new upgraded pistol.

First two- Idle & Walk, and the last two are equip & reloading.

The first three are awesome, the reloading one especially, it's just perfect IMO, as for the last one I don't quite understand. I suggest you lower where it's hold, it's just confusing.

The gani is weird, you'd have to see the full thing in action to see what happens- The clip drops out of the gun, then another clip is put in, then the gun is loaded (3rd screenie)

Because a down view isn't what you should be using, more so a front and back few.

When the player looks down, you're not looking at them from straight up, or else you wouldn't see their front. So why should gun's sprite look as if you're a bird?
