Help with detailing

I'm working on a level, and I can't get the detailing on the grass right. Whenever I try detailing, I get a patch done and 5 minutes later, I look at it, and delete it. I've tried adapting to different styles, and nothing's working.

Maybe someone could suggest a few things to give me an slight idea what to do?

Here's the level so far. You can see a sample of the current style I'm using.

I don't like to use those mushroom tiles as they are blocking tiles o_O

Them styles look similar!

I need help with detailing, I'm going to make a level with a few different styles and see which one looks better by asking other LAT's.

You should do the same, if not edit the current level and make a poll!

So you'd rather have the one on the end?

I know they look similar, I said they had a slight difference, and that's exactly what I'm trying to do ;-)

I like the middle one, but around trees I usually use swamp + mushrooms, houses I've learned the lighten up the detail and use fencing.

I don't think Contiga would appreciate more cliffs.
Lifeless? It's a level, I'm not going to add scripts and lights until I've finished if that's what you mean.

what I mean is, most graal levels are just flat and plain.
graal was ment to have alot of twisting turning cliffs...Rudora back in the dayhad really good levels...the barely even used the grass patches and flowers and dirt roads. Alot of cliffs and water obstructions and so on (in my opinion) make levels alot nicer looking.

Just because Rudora had 'twisting' cliffs doesn't mean the whole of graal needs to.
Anyway, 'twisting' cliffs look crap and bent. Be straight.

Nature is rarely perfectly straight.

Straight cliffs look lazy really.

'cliffs are nice but they take up alot of space and are blocking tiles you cant put them in every level or your people cant move around as well for pking.
