The annoyance of having to read masses is gone or having to look over 100 masses for a replacement.

That's a good point too. I wasn't even considering the benefits to the GC-end. Clearly opposition to such changes is warranted and justified.

I don't pretend to know the exact details of how it would look or appear, but would the gui messages (say for a replacement) disappear after X amount of seconds?

Well no one knows since this idea isn't even in development I believe, but it would be cool to have the gui appear at your convenience. Such as you can say /eventsgui off, or something.

Oh, and thanks for the negative rep on my former post here, anonymous.

That's the kind of idea I had in mind, but since I'm not likely to make this system in the first place, there's no telling what'll happen.

Why do you even care about reputation? If anyone seriously uses that as a representation of you in some way, they're probably not someone you want to have any concern for anyway. (No, it wasn't me, if that made you curious.)

We could make a GUI where the ET can type in some text, choose what kind of Message it is (Looking for Players, Informative...) and for how many people he's looking.

Then a Button in the upper right corner of all players pops up, when clicked on it a GUI appears with the Text and a Button: "Join" or something like that.

I dunno :o

You know what a good suggestion is, If everyone here that manages to post every day here like a million times in a day, would manage to come on classic every day, you know, since there is a majority of you who do not come on to play, we would have probably a nice increase in player count.

It just seems some of you who talk big, think ya know what we need on classic, well some of those people maybe come on like once or twice a month, it would be nice to see them come on more. Remember, players can help!

So kat, ever heard of logging on? maybe even joining an event when you are actually on? something, anything?

He doesn't have to post to read.
I wouldn't post if I was him either. No matter what he says, it will add fuel to the flame.

To do what, exactly? I have no need for a chat room with graphics. mIRC suits that role better. I've also pointed out countless times how developing is intolerable due to the existing scripts you have to deal with.

But you rather post on here instead? Is your time even worth it?

To the forum mother over there, yes, storm should post, if thor is posting and making an effort, so should he. Thor is actually being viewed as a manager, I don't think anyone views storm as manager anymore, I know i don't. As far as I know, hes worthless to classic and to every player there. So yes, he better make an effort to post here and log on as much as he possibly can to classic. If he really cared, we would have been seeing changes from him already besides trying to save his own butt instead of classics.

Here another suggestion actually, since this is the suggestion thread and all, maybe people like Darlene and others who post about classic but do not play classic , should start playing classic everyday, help us out, help the server out, otherwise keep their opinions to themselves. Its win win, either less Drama, or more players on classic =P

I used to play Classic a great deal until certain people ran me off, but I still care about classic.

My favorite time on Classic was when you had to get the Hera's (sp?)
I would definitely play Classic if it had lots of quests, (or any server for that matter), that had a point. Such as get something, take it somewhere to get something else, and so on.

Note: there is only one reason that I do not actually play Graal as much right now, and that is because my laptop lags really, really bad, not because I dont care....

You make it sound as if harm is being done by me posting. If you don't agree with my ideas, big deal. My reasons for doing so are quite obvious. I can also say the same thing to you: is the time you spent posting toward me worth it? It's a pretty stupid question. Obviously we both think so or it wouldn't get done.

Drama
There's that word again. People seem to love to use it any time they're unwilling to read an argument or even a simple discussion from an impartial point of view. To someone not taking it personally, these things are often productive.

Question marks are good things. I think I'll start putting question marks at the end of normal sentences so it can look equally retarded? As for what you said, rather than asked, the point is to have the ideas in the minds of multiple people, particularly developers? Whether or not they make it isn't even relevant to getting the topic discussed to see if it's worthwhile?

I never said I didn't agree with you Kat, All i meant by saying that is that if you are going to spend time posting your ideas here, why not help classic out by playing it and trying to make those ideas real, instead of just listing them here. If you cared enough to put them here, you should care enough to play classic.

And drama, its a good word to use for a lot of petty crap that happens here, because it is all drama, it isn't an excuse to not debate or argue. There is just to much talk here, and not enough getting done on the game.

If I'm going to be doing programming, I have my own project outside of Graal to spend that time on. I've also already stated, plenty of times (well, not all in this thread, I think), why doing ANYTHING on Classic is a nightmare.

Quote:

In your opinion. I have zero interest in actually doing anything on the server as far as "playing" goes. I can't imagine why anyone does.

That's my point. You and others dismiss the arguments/discussions as unimportant, and label it "drama", as you just did again. People want changes, but don't want any sort of conflict, it seems. When this blindness is met with reality, it then becomes "drama" to them.

There was a more significant part of what you quoted, but since you chose only to focus on this, I'll comment on it. It's quite disrespectful to other people to force them to look through your laziness. The point isn't to insult you, it's to ease communication for the future. You might try looking at it objectively.

I don't like the server under the name "Classic" at present. I loved what it used to be, as in any point in time before the NPC Server. If I can do something tolerable to help get it back to a good point, I have no problem doing that. Posting here to change minds is something, but given the general lack of maturity and open-mindedness here, that's probably pretty pointless. Regardless, I still try.

Quote:

You're right, I barely know anything about you or your past, but that isn't relevant. What I said was a generalized comment on my experience with various people and these situations, which seemed perfectly applicable to you in this case.

Uh oh, I'm pointing things out that people don't already see! It's "drama"!!! It's a negative thing and not constructive at all! Let's all just be endlessly ignorant of everything because informing people is "drama". That sounds like a great way to live. That wasn't directed at any one person, btw.

Man I wish someone would go through this crap and delete the petty arguments, they're kind of removing the actual focus of the thread and camouflaging posts that are relevant suggestions. The staff shouldn't have to go through everything just to get to note a suggestion someone has.

Even arguments show how people feel about certain things. May not be desirable to go through them but they should be.

There is a suggestion forum and a suggestion NPC on the server if people really want to get their Idea known out there.

Though it may look like back and forth rambling, they do bring up some valid points. Better than a randomly oriented map

How long ago was the npc server implemented?

Now calculate the odds of getting ridding of it. Just don't tell Han Solo the odds.

Jokes aside, it is indeed apparent that there is a severe lack of maturity on graal overall, not just this forum.

Minor suggestions do not need their own individual threads. People started to list minor changes, most minor changes were noted, and some minor changes were made. Discussions regarding the Game Coordinator team, how much the word "drama" is brought up, poor grammar, l33t sp34k, and Master Storm's activity are not the purpose of this thread, nor do they really accomplish anything.

Obviously my intent isn't to get the NPC server removed. You can still have something that functions very closely to the way everything did before the NPC server existed. Expecting that to ever get done without doing it myself is no doubt quite unrealistic though.

I agree that it detracts from being able to find things in a nice area, but you're adding to it yourself, you know. Moderators have the ability to clean it up if they really want that kind of thread.

Didn't read through the whole thread, but lots of nice things going on here.

I'd like AC back like it was, able to pause, able to have full health etc.
This will make pkers enjoy pking more then just doing it to boost their stats.

Well considering it is Graal, I am not surprised that there is a lack of maturity, its a child's game that we decided we would stick with. Most of us are mature in our real lives, but whats the fun of trying to be mature on a video game? That is not what video games are meant for!

And kat, i'm still not agreeing with this whole drama issue you have, I really do not see a lot of people calling out drama a lot to end arguments. Most of the time someone is telling someone else they are crying to much, but the argument continues. This isn't like a serious life issue, drama, and all that, it isn't that horrible as you make it sound. But it seems like you are on the same page as a lot of players, classic is a mess, it might as well be called Trash Paradise, and we'll get on with playing it.
