Zone Wars

i logged on today after i got home from my girlfriends house, and saw the Zone wars - Relaunched. i wanted to play it, but it went away. will it be back any time soon?

When one side (Light side i do believe) could use the speeders and not be killed unless a Sergent+ or a nub bought tazebombs could take them down. I think he kept going to the light side.

I see, so it is expected people are up-set with the removal of speeders. I myself did not like this move, but if you play it was for the best, seeing as how they made Mechs weaker on the Darkside, and the lightside's plasma sabre's have double power, it evened out.

From what I've gathered from this thread, now I have to take time out of my schedule to wait for and play an event to see this map, rather than play it at my leisure like before.

Zone Wars will now be an Events Planet, opened now and then, can also open it for special occasions such as Guild vs Server (as pooper stated). Also, minor changes still may occur, seeing as it is not completely finished, or it may be fine, and stay the way it is currently.

As for it coming back soon, it will probably be opened now and then as Events Planet, although probably for this week, it will be open almost every day, due to player requests, so you should get a chance to play.

Actually, if we wanted we could close all planets and make them like the Events Planet, although if you really would like maybe we could close some unused planets, and put Zone Wars up in there place, the reason we can't have it open is due to too many planets now. Will have to discuss this with the other ETs first, but this could work. Maybe even alternate between opening Guild Wars, and then Zone Wars each day?

Yes it could work, Since GW did replace ZW. Could be better, Yet it will never replace the old Zone Wars had in my heart

I agree, ZW is way better the GW and is more fun too. The alternating part i find wouldnt work, because no one would go on GW and jump to Iricia and then when ZW is up they'll go there, so there's no point in having GW alternating really.

So you propose we close Guild Wars, and open Zone Wars? I would agree but the reason Events Planet, and Zone Wars are staying fun is because they are sorta fresh, seeing as how you can't play them 24/7. Although, if I talked with the other staff, maybe we can figure a way to keep Zone Wars open, but this is an extremely delicate thing, I can't promise it, I really don't have any say in what happens with the major things like this. But I will try and convince them to keep Zone Wars open, if that is what the players want, although you may be sacrificing another planet or planet(s) in the process.

We need to balance Zone Wars a little bit more:
- eventually make the flame bombs less strong
- eventually disallow jetpacks near the power stations
- add some more ways to stop or overtake mechs? e.g. throw a grenade at the mech and then the driver is thrown out
- eventually reuse the lava cave, e.g. when the dark side wins then everyone is put into the lava cave and there is a final round (last-man-standing), only melee weapons allowed

You forgot fixing the glitch on the teams =D. I think sabres should be exclusive to lightside, or maybe put it so like veteren/sergent+ can use sabre on darkside? I don't know, but it defeats the whole purpose of light/dark sides if you have kids on each team with the opposite weapon sets x.x

And for the lava cave, we should incoperate some sort of boss like ending, where you fight luke or darth vader and they have the overpowered sabres, force push and like a ton of hp? Idk I've always wanted bosses on zone.

And you should make it so the power stations emit a sort of tazebomb effect around the area, disabling jetpacks =)

No, Zone is not going to work, its a pvp server, Bosses, are a definite no, plus it would make no sense to have a boss, unless you make a player the boss, whoever scored the most amount of kills or something becomes the boss?

For some reason, this made me thing of Master Chief hijacking a Wraith tank in Halo. Might be interesting for hijacking to be possible when mechs/bikes are frozen.

Does anyone else find this funny seeing as spar or gwars replaced Zone wars? I can't remember which of the top of my mind.

The mine problem could be fixed by adding a gravity effect to gravmines. They could make a field of electromagnetism that is so strong the mechs break down.

Update:
It's now possible to kick the driver out of a frozen mech by throwing a grenade at the frozen mech (any explosion will do it). Afterwards you can overtake the mech by grabbing it.
ETs are no longer be able to destroy power stations. Also the class items should be fine now.

Melee weapons would be better for pulling someone out, a bit more realistic.

A man stands in front of a truck, and trys to stab on the on-coming vehicle, next day the newspaper reads, "Suicidal Maniac killed by speeding motorist".

The other way,

A man throws a grenade at a truck, the grenade lands inside, and blows the man out of the car, also damaging the car. (I am saying inside because you expect that to happen, and plus Zone's vehicles are mostly no cover, grenades would blow you out. Mech doesn't have a screen either, you just jump in.

Ripping someone out with a blade, not damaging the vehicle as opposed to an explosive somehow knocking the pilot out yet not destroying the vehicle.

If you remember they have carrots that can kill people, Reapers which can be held, and they are bigger then the player's body, An Arctic planet, thats chilling temperatures never effect you, even if you were no sleeves, ect.

It's just stupid. Zone just gets more and more retarded as the staff members, that never actually play on there player, try new ways to make things "better". And then they just assume that things are how they imagined it to be, not listening to there players. But I'm not going to get into all that. Its been said repeatedly over the past year and a half, and like I said, they dont listen.

If a grenade is close enough to you, to blow you out of something, I think you would die? Exspecially if your falling out of a bigass mech.

The explosion should just blow up the mech. It's not like they dont respawn when destroyed anyways.
