Aside from your incorrect verb usage, as an American, your punctuation goes inside of the quotation marks. You also used an obsolete adjective (abridged). "Let's" is not an "abridged" version of two words, it is a contraction (its "official" name). If you're going to try and be grammatically superior, you should put your words and punctuation to proper use. Typing big words does not make you a linguistics major.

Numbers of less than three digits should always be typed out as words. This typically only applies to the typed word, not written works. "Dippin" as you put it, is an "abridged" word, and should be spelled as
Dippin', with an apostrophe to shorten it and indicate the dropped letter.
