Alkaren presents...his ideas for 2002!

Yes, Alkaren is finally posting his ideas for Graal 2002, even though he is speaking in the third-person for no reason and he has never seen the server, he still wants to add his ideas. Since I know zero about GScript, some of these things may not be possible, if so that's fine, after all these are just ideas (sorry if some of this has been posted before).


Beginning The Adventure

Ok, now since 2002 is going to be a role-playing server, I suggest these things when you first sign on, and if you are a new character you can choose your alignment:
  • Lawful Good
  • Lawful Neutral
  • Lawful Evil
  • Neutral Good
  • True Neutral
  • Neutral Evil
  • Chaotic Good
  • Chaotic Neutral
  • Chaotic Evil

And depending on the alignment you choose, you are limited to the class (or race if that was ever put in) you can be.

Classes

Well, if you are going to be role-playing you are going to have different classes and people can only choose certain classes based on their alignment (an you see an chaotic evil paladin? of course not!) Classes I can think of, and as you level up your classes increase to a more powerful one if you choose or you can stay with that class and learn all the skills or spells for that class (-- denotes the more powerful version)
  • Warrior
    --Knight
    --Dragoon (Lancer)
  • Rouge
    --Ranger
    --Druid
  • Paladin
    --Templar
  • Priest
    --Cleric
    --High Priest
    --Herbalist
  • Mage
    --Wizard
    --Necromancer
    --Archmage
  • Soldier
    --Archer
  • Bard
    --(none)
  • Fallen Paladin
    --Blackguard

I can go into details, skills, etc and all of that if that kind of class system is possible.


Gaining and losing experience, and staying alive

Well, if you want to put some realism into 2002, than people need to eat, and drink to stay alive. Every so often...like maybe an hour real time you have to eat something, and maybe every hour and a half you have to drink something. If you don't you start to lose experience (part I doubt can be done). And you can maybe carry some sort of canteen and maybe a bag to keep water and food in, to eat.

Now, since people who have been playing longer will have an unfair advantage over new people, if you kill someone who is too low in levels (experience), or far lower than you, then you lose a lot of experience, depending on how much lower they are than you. This will give newer people a better chance, also you can choose to be either non-pk or for pking at the beginning. Non-pkers are never allowed to kill another player, ever. If they kill someone just once, then they become a PKer forever, and resetting doesn't change it. PKers are the only ones that can be attacked by players though. That way non-pkers are never attacked, and never have to worry about people attacking them. PKers, are PKers forever as well. (Non-pkers only become pkers when they kill another player, this does not count for npcs)

Now, gaining experience is sort of how I proposed to keep newer players safe, but the opposite of that. The higher in levels (experience) the person you are killing is the more experience you will get from them.

Equipment

Since I have never played on 2002, will someone explain to me how it is currently set up? Or is it just, level 2 or 3 shield, and level 1, 2, or 3 sword? Depending on how it is currently set up, I'll give my ideas for it.

Kingdoms, cities, etc

Ok, since there are kingdoms, there should be other sorts of things as well. Like cities within the kingdoms. With each city being run by a mayor, council, military leader, etc, depending on that kingdom's type of leadership. And there are guards and stuff walking around the cities (kind of like Manny and Paul, but who interact with the players to a certain degree).

Outside of these kingdoms though are other things, smaller things if you will. Like independent city-states, small towns, maybe even an independent imperialistic empire. These are mainly npc run but players can choose to be a part of them if they choose (like through an npc or whatever). And they cannot be taken over; they are just there to improve the role-playing.



Well, this is all I can write at this moment, given my limited knowledge of 2002. Sorry again if some of this has been posted before (and yes I know there is a thread about this already )

I don't agree, because when I roleplay I liek to use characters of all different alignment and things. I don't want it to be set.

Not set, but I really didn't go into much detail here, simply because I would rathar get a reaction first. As I said, the alignment you choose will effect the classes you can choose from. But your alignment is not set in stone. It will change depending on your actions. But you have to keep a type of alignment for some classes to keep it's magic and stuff. For example, if a paladin's alignment starts dipping near neutral, or evil that paladin will lose it's powers. But that's only an example. I think it would be stupid myself to make your alignment set permently. Sorry for not going into detail.

The second a paladin does an evil act, he is no longer a paladin. He cannot redeem himself.

The second a paladin does a chaotic act, he must confess his sin to a priest.

By the way, Druids are in no way rogues. Every Druid is a member of the larger Druid orginisation.

Also a thief class would be nice.

rofl you dont need to select classes all you do is say your neutral its not roll playing if you select how oftn do you see a guy asking you if you want to be a paladin a ranger or archer? you just become one and set your nickget it?

I like alignment but yes its the same as baldurs x.x. But if we have evil classes etc. I would love it. I love roleplaying as a completely evil traveling sorcerer
