Just a thought

The only problem I can think of, is having to break how walking functions; and set up a system of your own.

The biggest problem is the lack of layers to draw images on really. That's what I felt when I made an isometric system ages ago.

haha , i was thinking to avoid the angled tiles from being a movement problem, have a movement system that works with a flag from inside each level. Each level would have a joining script and would tell the grid of each level (nonblocking , blocking , deep water, exc) and the players location on the grid is updated wile/when the player moves.

unless someone can support me on this idea , im goign to change my plans to the graal 2d style :P

also ziro what you mean by layers? , my plan was to do all the tiles on one tileset , dosent matter ware on it. All the objects in the levels would be npcs (chairs , trees , tables , exc) Sence the player dosent actualy walk on the tileset it shouldnt matter ware the tiles are on the tileset. Having the hole tileset to make tiles I shoulnt run out of room

Well the thing is, if you're doing isometric I presume you also want walls and stuff for houses, and unless you make them all NPCs (which would be laggy with bigger maps) you have to have layers.
