RC Recycle Bin

It would be nice if there was a deleted/ folder on RC where files would go in case you accidently deleted something obviously.

I like that idea, that way you can restore something easily without waiting for someone who has it backed up.
Far too many times i've come across newer RC users that deleted things by accident, heck, I've done it a few times myself, this would come in handy.

Would be handier with a time limit, say that it can't be removed from the recycle bin for at least a week, then if a server ever got bamboozled by a bad staff they couldn't do anything serious, and everything would be back in no time, taking that someone realised within a week.

Yeah that helps in the occaision that someone deletes the files and then clears the Recycle bin. Basically they just look at the log to see who got the files there, then deal with them, and restore the files.
I really like the idea xD

It is a good idea.
However, preventing the files from being downloadable until restored would also be good and prevent the stealing of content.

Hmm I'd say that only level4 needs access to deleting the recycle bin really, possibly also restoring (or even more restrictions on it).

It's not a vitally important thing that would need action straight away from a staff to empty to recycle bin, so it could wait.

Hm, I don't like this that much, I think it could be given to whoever the manager feels deserves it. I know I can't be on that much for other things I do, and my manager is on at different times than others because he lives in an odd timezone.

I think it would probably just be better as a folder with rw access. For example, every staff member could be given rw trashbin/yourname_*

I dunno, what about the servers that are always firing and hiring people for RC. That could end up a hassle for people to do just to keep creating Folders every time they give someone RC access. I think a generic Trashbin would be better than singles for everyone.

It would not be a folder for everyone, it would be a single folder that people would have limited read/write abilities in.

I agree, it should be given with folder rights not automatically.
You might not want everyone to have access to a Recycle Bin. I wouldn't want some other person taking stuff out that I deleted for a reason, Even though by my position I could delete from Recycle Bin.

Oh I got the wrong idea when you said "trashbin/yourname_*", I figured by "yourname" you meant every member gets their own.

I just believe:
No one should be able to delete the recycling bin, but it gets deleted automatically after a week. Rights should be distributed to whomever the manager deems appropiate (read rights, and copy rights?)

That does raise another point as well, what if the Managers only have access to the folders, and they're the ones that go corrupt and delete things before quitting. Then no one could restore it unless they had a backup
