its not complicated at all,
think of it as a minigame..
it could be an actual battle mode,
where you sort of enter an uninteruptable battle (pvp only)
and you press back your character steps back, and so on,
it would be easy, if you knew how to script,
i know UN has a final fantasy battle system,
it would be like that but not turn based, and more freedom to move,
it be a great idea actually,
and in war, they could be joined by more people,
to join in B mode stand alongside your comrade? and press attack button? then you can start your fancy footworking.
And stats give u upperhand but if your skilled anyone can fall,
