Gold>>infinet classic :(

My gold just ran out, and i was wondering...
if i can go on hosted servers shouln't i be able to go on player worlds cause i cant work anymore now that i just have classic :(

so, could u change it so u can go on PW's too cause there almost the same except there are more people on player worlds...

(oh and for some reason i can still post :fro:)

I didn't think you could log on to hosted servers with only a lifetime account?

I honestly can't see them making the other playerworlds accessible to Lifetime Classic accounts in the near future. If they allowed this then one of the big incentives for upgrading to gold will have been taken away and I doubt Graal is willing/able to lose the money from that.

theHAWKER 03-29-2007 03:16 AM

well, the hosted servers combined only have like 12 people x.x the player worlds have combined like 50 so, mabey they should eaven replace that tab...

there are eaven clasic servers with like 1 person on at a time again unlink some playerworlds.. and the playerworlds have a long range of voriety AGAIN unlike the 4 hosted servers zzZZ

LEARN PROPER ENGLISH. I can't even read half of what you typed for christs' sakes dude.

My god, and yes, all yearly classic accounts are allowed to post on forums. No, they shouldn't make yearly classic server private server accesible.

You haven't needed gold time to post for months.

Tyhm 03-29-2007 03:53 AM

Nor should they require Gold Upgrades to work on servers, but that's me...

In an ideal world, ignoring the issue of money, I would agree. It'd be nice if people could log on to any server with RC regardless of their account status to work on the server. Although it would also worsen the problem of the developers on Graal being too spread across the game.

DustyPorViva 03-29-2007 06:17 AM

How would it spread them too thin? They can't even work on any servers at all without gold. So if they don't have gold right now they're not even being spread at all.

Tyhm 03-29-2007 06:39 PM

It's only an issue as long as the servers continue working against each other.
In an ideal Graal, servers bring in their own customers instead of competing with each other for the pool of Graalians...in which case developers should be free to make whatever they like for any, all, or no particular servers.
"I made an ATM card, who wants it?"
"Sorry, can't use it - our server's caveman themed, thanks though."
"Ooh! Want! Hey, how do I change the graphics?"

"Anyone need a gravity system?"

Then maybe servers will treat developers as a valuable ally rather than a commodity to be protected...you want to be nice to The scripters so they'll edit the Throw A Jug script to work with your server, rather than You want to be nice to Your scripter so he won't leave...
Then we'll start seeing servers with stronger genres, instead of "This is a server where everything's medeval, except Bill made these awesome motorcycles so we had to use that, and there wasn't gonna be Magic but Zero said he was gonna leave unless I uploaded it, and..."

He means he's not good enough to get himself a job on a classic server, only about 1/4 of the graal population can actually get a GOOD, DEV job on a classic server.. ;(

I remember when you could use RC1 on private servers without gold.. Not anymore though

Getting a job on Era's pretty easy.

Paco... don't flame someone in a game, especially when you yourself don't know about writing properly.

"oh i write good for my age :B" Thats not even true, however you do act your age.

They can work on classic servers if they don't have gold. If you allow free development over Graal that should mean less developers working on the classic servers, or at the very least a decrease in activity among the classic staff. In theory since a large majority of Graal's customers are classic players it means less updates and therefore less incentive for people to play Graal?

This is true, but unless Graal becomes one giant server, which is obviously unlikely, there is always going to be that competition between servers to get the most players. In order to do so they are not going to want to share their 'good' content.

Also, from a player's point of perspective it's nice to see different features of gameplay. I don't really want to log on to one server and use a bank system, then log on to the next and it's pretty much exactly the same system with slightly different graphics or wording.

I agree with your principles but I don't think what you are suggesting is that practical.
