Whatever happened to Babylon?

I always used to go there back when I was trial, then I got banned because somebody thought I was hacking, because they had bushes growing back on their screens where I was walking. They called an admin and he/she jailed my friend, then me. But I got a perm. ban.
Then I started going on with a trial acct just because I liked playing the events. But about half a month ago, I went on and nothing was there, just some random bushes/broken houses. Were they under construction or have they died? I hope they're still there, although not on the classic list, because I want my acct unbanned so I can play some of their events again!

You people here are smart. You know that's not hacking.

It's "under construction" which is seemingly synomonous with "Remake Levels but still have the exact same thing".

Supposed to go back public on the 21st, but honestly, i'm not getting my hopes up.

I lived, breathed and made Babylon with fellow developers for 4 years, only to get squandered by some overpowered wannabe that was made Manager because he can script and make terrible levels.

Without Alexander being an active Owner/Manager, (I know hes trying), Babylon will never get better. These two new "Managers" don't know what the hell they're doing.

Thrashsoul3 06-10-2005 04:57 AM

Well don't be one to say anything Sephiroth. I recently decided to work there and have had a lot of progress in the past few days. Today I added a new job and already
started on a new quest.

I'm not new to my knowledge. Babylon has taken off considerably since we removed the slackers and the ones constantly dragging us down with non-constructive criticism (you, for one).

And cheatbobb I believe your account is unbanned.

Infernix 06-10-2005 05:18 AM

Seph....Alexander wont be active and even if he was, does that meen he will do anything good for Babylon? This time around Babylon is run more like a team. And not just a few bums complaining all the time and makeing random crappy things. More Organization more everything. Progress is actually happening this time. Unlike while you were around. You should have been a big man and did what I do almost everyday I get on Bab. Push everyone to work the best I can. And Guess what it works. I dont have to depend on Alexander or Malinko or just 2 people for everything. I can more or less depend on everyone. What Im really trying to get to is that. Babylon is changing and it will change if Alexander helps or not.

Lord Sephiroth 06-10-2005 05:25 AM

Yeah I gave up relying on people after the first 3 YEARS.
Yeah I gave up pushing people after the first 3 YEARS.
Yeah I gave up on EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING after the first 3 YEARS.

You have no idea what it was like. Even when I did my job I was the source of controversy for logging on. ANd because some pompus little ***** thinks shes the world, I don't have the privilage of continuing where I belong.
I always did my job, one way or another, whether you knew it or not.

Thrashsoul3 06-10-2005 05:27 AM

Enough public argueing.

Calm down and fix your swearing, or you'll be out of here faster than you can say "banned".

True dat, homie. ;)

WanDaMan 06-10-2005 11:18 AM

The current managers of Babylon are hopeless. If anyone should be manager it should be Inferno (aka farte6 and Infernix).

Goodluck, I do hope that Calani did pass the test because of the hard work and not because of her persona on Babylon.

Matt 06-10-2005 01:27 PM

Why not get James back as Manager? He did a great job managing and developing.

contiga 06-10-2005 02:33 PM

Contiga for Manager!!!

contiga 06-10-2005 02:36 PM

oopz

haro41 06-10-2005 08:13 PM

but babylon's style is really similar to UN. How do expect the people will pick up and leave UN to come here? They cherish thier kills/deaths rate, their hours and guilds. Its not easy giving those up and becoming a noob over again.

look at SL. everything about the server was better than UN, and even that didnt survive.

Graal is a game celebrated by adolescents who also treasure identity. If you want to make a server beat UN, you need to have a server which pushes forward the notion that everyone is an individual. Also, if you have alot, and I mean ALOT of jobs which are necessary that players can obtain with relative ease, then you will attract a base. What I mean is this:

Have an economy and server where players can actually join official staff positions, such as (Pizza Staff) or so on. They like that kind of thing. Pay them, give them groovy ganis/NPCs to spend their money on. UN succeeds because it has interesting NPCs to play with (look at all the freaking instruments, for example) and so on. It also has the events and so on. ALSO! At onlinestartlocal, have examples of the NPCs so the players don't have to look for them. You have, on average, 5 minutes to either a)enthrall a player or b) lose them to their regular server. Anyway, I've got tons more to say but no time to say it.

Infernix 06-10-2005 10:57 PM

3 years and your finnaly stopped working completely. Then Got fired. Nothing but that.

Babylon Is and is not going to be UN. Any server who seeks to be better than UN has problems. Im Seeking to make a server most players will enjoy. The Current Managers are alittle strange but I can easily work with them. Unlike on some servers where they hold me back. *Looks at SL* SL's staff team is just messed up. It they got that more organized they would be a great server...and level improvement rofl.

Hiro 06-10-2005 11:13 PM

Kisharha can't be doing that bad of a job..

syltburk 06-11-2005 12:56 AM

So basically I feel bad for wasting 3 years of your time to work for free, it's a game where you work for free, it was your choice and you should accept it.

dennis20014 06-11-2005 05:33 AM

Babylon

I think babylon is awesome, I guess 3 years of work would get boring afterawhile, but Babylon will be back, and in my opinion its better than UN. It aint as crowded, and there's more cool people in Babylon anyway =D. Sephiroth and Infernix both do/did good jobs I dont see why you guys are arguing about it , but thats just me

Who said Kisharha did anything? Seriously, about one month ago the only people who wanted to do some work on Babylon were me, Inferno and Crono.

From what I've seen, I do not think it's ready to go public.

im waisting my one post of the day to tell you babalons old ets were currupt your server had no quest and well it got old with around 20 people buuut the watergun thing and the ganis for warping and such were cool anywho im gona go play starwars galaxies

xXDuMajuXx 06-12-2005 12:07 PM

I don't see the point in these arguements. A few months ago, things were going quite like clockwork, and that's why I quite, so I wouldn't drag that down.

In that case:

Delteria
Atlantis
Shaded Legends
Classic

Would be similar to UN as well. :\

They had no quests, and that ruled. You could start sparring right away.

The 20 people were around used to be OK people. I'd come on for the spar touraments like most everyone else.
