Graal2001: Dead again?
 

Well, I see only a few people ever on debug now. I seen cheetos once yesterday, Tseng occasionally, Kramer, Shadowless, scott, and mabey Gryffin once in a blue moon. I don't think any work is getting done, except for Shadowless' projects... In my eyes, I think he should be CoManager or something. Not even that, I think Lance should be on more frequently, and high active staff.Me and shadowless have talked about a few people who should be hired now.

I just think that G2K1 is in another slum.

It seems that progress is going slow on kingdoms, but there is progress, or so i hear. I'm sure they are trying their best. But also, you can't blame Lance for not being on...

Shadowless = Co-Manager? mesa scared now :P

for some reason i move like 3 times slower than i used to on graal. so i dont play anymore because i cant kill people as much

Run a virus/spyware scan, you may have a trojan/spyware eating up your bandwidth.

I come on about once a day, except weekends- then it's a total variable. There's simply not much I can do- I'm there for the players, not production work -_-.

I can't blaim Tseng for not being on? He is usually on, mabey not when I am. But he does from what I can see, spend more time on GK(dev) than on G2K1. And Kingdoms in a "slow" pace is right, but is it getting done? Nah, Shadowless is doing it all it seems. Thats ok, because the magical ghosts of graal will do everything.

I spend most of my time on both, excal. I oversee things going on at both servers - There is not much I can do for graal2001 right now, short of hiring more people, and I'm attempting to work out something for that. Problem is, the standards are too high for most people, and those whose work's good enough already have jobs in places and aren't interested in another job. It was a blessing to have Scott and Shadowless come to help us out - I'm putting them in charge of their respective divisions (gfx and levels). I'm coordinating the projects - what more can you ask from me?

I've explained this several times before, and I'll explain it again - it's a temporary slump caused by a perceived lack of things to do. When kingdoms and the new quests/jobs are released, people will find enjoyment in the server once again. Keep in mind - the server's community-driven; when the community isn't there, it's not much fun, more people leave, repeat. So, when kingdoms come back, more people come, people find it fun and stay, community's larger, repeat, etc. It's some pretty basic principles. :)

But I, a player, have seen nor heard any news of production or any attempts to edify the server. It's been like two-three months and there is still no kingdoms. 2k1 shouldn't have been released without the kingdoms, it would've been fine to release them the week later or so... but not a couple of months.

So 2k1 has prolly lost alot of it's potential playercount.

You can help me out with some simple scripting things. :insert AIM's flirty face here:

There, I disagree. Babylon went for having 10-13 people to being (mostly) 3rd place on the server list. And G2k1 has a reputation that most servers do not. When kingdoms are released, there won't be any less amount of player coming for them then if kingdoms was released a month ago...better late than never.

About Shadowless being manager, I can't really judge him but er..just because someone is doing alot of graphical work or so doesn't neccessarily mean they have good management skills and Tseng is doing his job as manager. Also, you don't have to be on RC to get development work done (unless it was like scripting or so,) it's actually more of a distraction. I only get on when I have something to upload and such.

What the hell is it with all these type of threads anyway? We heard you the first time, what do you expect after the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th the day after?

Uh, I've posted frequently about the kingdoms being in production. That hasn't changed, therefore it's still the case.

People wanted graal2001; they didn't care if kingdoms were in. Should've known better than to just trust what the players wanted. But wait, that's what you're asking me to do. Contradiction, ahoy!

But it helps alot for communication, if someone needs some graphics or something, they can ask you on RC. :)

We dont get paid money. We dont get special treatment. We do this in OUR time. Even if it is slow, atleast we do some work. Shadowless is one of the most dedicated level makers I have met yet. It's only him, and Excal I beleive. For a server that has many ideas, it's kind of hard.Back off.

I don't have too much time to make levels, and for some reason, I don't really like to anymore, because, well... It's a weird feeling, I can't explain. :(

Kingdoms are slowly being worked on, but Tseng, mabey we need more help? :) Thats the only thing I want to get accross.

He already said he tried, but all the good people are working somewhere else or something :(

fact: Kingdoms aren't done and probably won't for a little while

fact: They ARE working even though they may not "show" updates.

fact: They are in need of staff although anyone who wants to join lacks the amount of talent they need, and anyone really good is working somewhere else

Lots of people have asked me about it, but I didn't know if they were good enough, and I didn't ask for examples of their work because it isn't my job to hire people... Or it wasn't, if me being 'head of my respective division' means I'm supposed to hire people... Then I'd like to know. :) ;)

They who? Scott and Shadowless? Shadowles is working on one kingdom and Scott makes some graphics here and there for him.
-Not everyone has the time to dedicate to Graal. I'd rather have those two dedicate what they can then have 10 people sit around on RC all day and do nothing.

No one attempted to join except Thak I believe, who works with us on G2K1.
-Unless you've checked Lance's emails and talked with every staff member, how woudl you know?

Says who? You? This topic is not dumb and it won't be closed. We are discussing the current progress of the development and working out why it is taking us (G2K1 staff) so long to finish Kingdoms.

I know, it sucks waiting for stuff. But, the kingdoms are a huge task, especially to make them unique and of good quality.

Hopefully the kingdoms will be up soon, I want to try out g2k1, last time I was on it I got banned =P lol, hopefully G2k1 will hold more of an rpish environment than GK does...

Somehow I doubt that -_-;

Anyway, there's no point in anybody rambling about this anymore, it's not going to help.

It might help if a few thousand stray LAT get caught up by our whining and agree to make our levels if we stop :D

They put a countdown timer and when it hit 0 it took them two weeks to release the server.

Personally... I dont trust 2k1's deadlines and projects. The kingdom project might NEVER be done.

Oh they will... Unless I die or something... Then I can't be 100% sure.
