Supposing that the Dustari continent on 2k2 is the same now as it used to be, and I have any input, this is what Dustari will be layed out like on 2k2. This is, of course, assuming that I have input and I am not shoved aside!

Skatche 05-03-2002 09:20 AM

Heh, I love the symbols you used on the map. ^^

On a more serious note: how will the contour of the landscape affect the construction of houses and whatnot? It looks like the castle and the capital city are on sloped ground.

TrueHeaT 05-03-2002 10:47 PM

haha i thought those were the "Goddamn" mountains at first :(

Kohojogo 05-03-2002 11:21 PM

How can it be that Dustari got now dock city, a city near the water would make them able to trade from the sea and fishing would be easyer to :D

Please rephrase.

Fun.

Could use possibly another town for the manufacturing part of Dustari. Maybe a business section where the market is along with all the merchants.

The major industrial center of Dustari is Torub. Major commercial center is Harbor Town. :)

Placing Baritol so close to the coat may be unwise. Capital cities typically shy away from long coastlines, as it leaves them more vulnerable to sea attacks. A few shiploads of men landing in the bay to the left of Barital could quickly overwhelm the city, especially as the troops would traverse quickly over the flat terrain. Placing it where the Forest Sanctuary is currently located may be a better choice.

Placing the castle on a mountain was wise, though if Baritol is moved inland, as I strongly urge it is, it too would have to be moved farther up the range, to stay close to the capital.

As it is currently situated, the Ratlands are in the greatest danger, being so secluded from the other cities. Judging from the name, however, I can't assume you place too much importance on it.

The map is not as accurate as I would like it to be.

Baritol itself is quite inland, just the symbol makes it seem quite close to the coast.

I'll be creating a second, more definitive map later on that will explain things much better.

In that case, it is imperative that the castle and capital be moved. As it is, Torub is grossly unprotected. Reinforcements from Baritol and the castle would arrive far too late, and I cannot imagine a Forest Sanctuary would house any great number of troops. The Harbor Town's defense would be slightly weakened, but not too terribly. Certainly nothing compared to the peril Torub is currently in.

Ah, that is good. But Torub would still be in considerable danger.

You can't defend our north western seas because you cannot swim :(

Maybe you should create tiny little sailboats in masses and raid any ships that come by :D

vsignasv 05-07-2002 02:08 AM

Redflair 05-15-2002 07:26 AM

GryffonDurime 05-15-2002 08:34 AM

Oh....I don't know where I'll live-I guess I'll be living in one of the Academies until I build by huge mansions.....plural.....

Brad 05-15-2002 08:36 AM

Brad city will be the capital.

trickster2006 05-15-2002 10:39 AM

I'm guessing Dustari's religion has been overlooked here? There needs to be a "Holy town," like Jersalem.(sp?) Pilgramages and training of the Priests...

Has not been overlooked! ;)

If you look in the center of the island, I decided to forego a city in place of a large temple/sanctuary in the center of the island...

Neonight 05-16-2002 09:47 PM

Jeff:

What exactly is the Dustari religion again?

GryffonDurime 05-16-2002 11:06 PM

Supposedly it's the worshipping of a God named El' Talek, but my character is the last remaining Priest of Mytri, along with Lauren and Tseng.

Brad 05-17-2002 04:16 AM

I hate when people try to make their character so powerful.

trickster2006 05-17-2002 04:16 AM

Forest Sanctuary...Why the forest? If it was truely a major sanctuary, why wouldn't they chop most of the forest down? The human way is destruction...

Province System O_o

PuffyPuppy 05-19-2002 09:55 PM

I like that idea lots :o

GryffonDurime 05-19-2002 10:32 PM

toguild:I like the Province system too....but there are enough Durimes that we can all just live in the mansion, even if Lauren and Tseng are the only blood relations. I call dibs on Durime town being the center of learning-now all I need to do is build some Academies and several Coffee/Book shops

Neonight 05-20-2002 01:13 AM

Jeff:

I have never seen any reference to what deity is served by the Church of et'Talek.

That could be a name like the Presbyterian Church, the Roman Catholic Church, or the Church of What's Happening Now.

And I call the Warhate Town (if made) to be the centre of weapon crafts and military training.

GryffonDurime 05-20-2002 05:08 AM

Warhate?

In the middle ages, all Churches belong to the Roman Catholic so therefore Dustari should be Roman Catholic.
