nowhere you just have to believe

Tim_Rocks 12-21-2012 07:02 AM

It says it somewhere, and in banning options on RC there is an option for "Account Sharing", so I guess you shouldn't continue to let your mother play on your account.

Hope that helps! :)

Even if nobody can find it, a lot of people know quite a few accounts that have been banned for account sharing over the years. They got strict with it when P2P was introduced.

Yes and I'm ****ing glad this isn't properly enforced.

Keep it on the DL, don't let anyone notice you are doing it..

Not account sharing but just found this interesting article:

Scoper 12-21-2012 10:37 PM

For starters:
http://www.graalonline.com/docs/agreement
Section 4 states that company owners and administrators get to decide what is fair and acceptable use during play.
Presumably since account sharing gets people banned all the time, it isn't fair or acceptable use.
I think old p2p's had a second agreement they signed upon registration that outlined account sharing more explicitly, but I'm not gonna dig that far from my phone. Will edit if found later

I understand classic accouts not allowing account sharing as we don't pay for a membership anymore; but those who pay monthly for gold should be allowed to account share.

Doesn't that, by definition, make Linux cyberwhoevers lose money?

Incidentally, I looked through the user agreement, and it doesn't explicitly mention sharing at all either, so the best I can say is that EULA portion I mentioned earlier :/

Neither ToS or EULA mention it directly however there are several red flags that pretty much could be applied in that type of situation. Either way people shouldn't share accounts whether you pay or not..

All big MMO games either disallow or highly recommend against account sharing, and you pay for those every month.

I know for sure I'd never want someone that's account sharing working on my servers.

Yes.

General Provisions. You may not use, copy, modify, sublicense, rent, sell, assign or transfer the license granted pursuant to this Agreement except as expressly provided in this Agreement.

I agree, I wouldn't want an account sharer working on my server either. But for the general population, I see it like Xbox Live. I can't imagine telling someone they can't play on my account when borrowing my Xbox.

The problem is one person buys an account and shares it with friends and then suddenly 3-4 other people don't need to buy an account because they'll just use their friends.

Exactly the problem and one of the reasons I assume that liftetime subscriptions were ended. I can't say that the current subscription policy is ideal but looking at it from a business standpoint I can understand why it wasn't working out.

Wasn't working out because players knew it was not worth throwing money at. Games like LoL are making millions and they're free to play.

ffcmike 01-09-2013 09:45 PM

The funny thing is lifetime accounts are still given away on a regular basis.

fowlplay4 01-09-2013 10:17 PM

don't be annoying and you won't be banned for it
