Adding tileset

So i have always had this problem with adding images to the offline editor and the only way i have seen to resolve it is by actually being able to physically see the image online then it will load. However, i don't want to have to do this and i know there is a way to do it without that step and i just don't get what i am missing. Can someone help me?

Must be in the graal folder, then restart the Editor...that should work?

You need to index your images, and I don't know what programs you have but here's how to do it in GIMP.

Usually what i do is i save the image as bmp then import it into giffy then use the gif2mng program.

@Elk
It can be anywhere in the graal folder or does it have to be in like tileset for a tileset?

First the best thing to do is use an indexed PNG. Most graphic editors can accomplish this. When using the graphic offline the best thing to do is put it in the same folder as the level itself, and open the level directly(instead of opening the editor then opening the level). Graal always caches the images in the root folder of the level so you don't have to worry about it being in the right folder.

Why would you save it as bmp?

Best to always use .PNG, I personally save everything as 24 Bit PNG's as I usually exceed the amount of colors indexable, but the offline editor only supports 8 Bit PNG's.

Exactly, and seeing as it's the only official editor it makes actually developing a pain in the ass. For this instance you have to have an 'offline' version that is indexed and the unindexed for online.
