Ban threats in deletion reasons
 

I don't usually make threads like this, but it seems a little unneccessary and moreover unprofessional for mods to threaten to ban players in public. You might not want to leave deletion reasons like what's below, especially considering that it's in the rules that users are not supposed to discuss bans on the forums. Furthermore, this is within plain view.

Also, this thread is not about bans. It's about actions of the moderation, which I understand are upheld by Cyberjoueurs, but it's often unwise to contradict one's own set of rules to abide by.

yes that would be the most auspicious path to take compared to there current one where they treat us like contentious children. :)

Funny, I could have. However, I chose not to because it makes for decent discussion.

This is a tiny matter but then again mods give out infractions to the littlest of things themselves. And they wonder why we complain every chance we get. But of course in their eyes they are the gods and they do no wrong.

Yeah. I'm just saying that it might be a pretty good idea to keep that stuff private, especially considering that msot of them don't want to see threads like this one popping up because of it. It's really a matter of causality.

You should know by now that this thread will get closed or deleted. It clearly states in the rules that you've obnoxiously mentioned, "If you feel that you have been wronged by a moderator, contact a higher member of staff such as a supermod or admin, and calmly explain the situation." and "The Private Message feature of the Graal Communication Centre allows users to send messages to one another without other members seeing them. If you wish to contact a person, to give them a message or request that they speak with you, always use PMs instead of making a thread purely for that purpose." which apparently you should already know, hilarious.

Makes sense to me. Ban or don't ban, threats don't work.

What of saying "+1 infraction"? That's just educational.

That happens from time to time. I copy down bits and pieces from the forum and put them into the quick reply box in the order I need them in, and sometimes mistype names. I am usually quick about going back and editing, though.
I don't mind as long as mods remember what I've mentioned. I'm not really out to prove anything. It's just advice.
I do know. However, I am not making a post directed toward a person. It is directed toward a group of people.
That would probably be the better method. Moreover, closing and deletion reasons should probably also be a little less personal and more linked with the rules. For example, if a forum arguement arises and it escalates to a point beyond saving, it's not a good idea to write "Everyone was being stupid." Instead, just write "Flame War."

Moonie, but I'm deciding not to, because we happen to have a newer supermod who could also take some of the advice as well.
In the long run, not really, considering that Unix and Moonie can look back to this statement whenever they wish to make a decision involving you.

Thanks for representing the opinion of the fine young gentlemen of Classic, Door. I'm sure it will always have a place on my fridge next to the magnetic letters you used to spell out "I like corm."

These threads are not needed. Just gives another excuse to flame the mods. Next time, use a forum PM, or even a support ticket which myself, and the supermods can view.
