Disease land!

There is a terrible disease that is preventing me from playing the game and I can't figure out a way to cure/fix it. I can't get enough grace to cure it without dying repeatedly. Anyone know why this is happening?

Luigi203 06-30-2006 06:50 AM

From what I hear, Fr0chin casted rabies on a monster. You can guess what happened next.

107 Wisdom + Ogma disease = Epidemic.

<3 Bile for being so leet.

This is more like it. Disease was a big part of medieval times.

Raeiphon 06-30-2006 08:14 AM

Disease isnt funny when you cant walk across the screen once without dying.

This is just pathetic. Honest to god.

Luigi203 06-30-2006 08:24 AM

I'm finding this pretty damned hilarious.

Time to make some experience for healers?

Actually the diseases have been fixed with the last update of the npcserver, they were bugged before (not going from player to player, only from ground to player)

lordbosh 06-30-2006 08:45 AM

Yeah, diseases are actually supposed to be horrible. Wait until someone tries black death :P

Luigi203 06-30-2006 08:47 AM

Well, I had fun. And I got some stuff.

+50 saphs
+80 rubies
+90 diamonds
+2000 plat
+1 green cube
+1 Mistletoe ammy

lordbosh 06-30-2006 08:55 AM

Diamonds go directly to the prep Bosh's Darkflame fund kthx

alarid0 06-30-2006 09:40 AM

Ok fixed the diseases which never went away, which makes it hard to remove the illness since once someone with the illnesses logs into the server again everyone will be infected again. So it has been changed so that you can also get immunity against illnesses like rabies. We should change the illnesses sometime may be, like doing illnesses which don't infect other people and really need to be healed.
I don't know what to do about the lost items. We could do a rollback to yesterday, or restore manually, but that is hard when other people got the valuable items. Valuable items should normally not be dropped anyway, their platinum value needs to be raised.

Yes, it would be best if the value was raised. Nobody actually sells the rarer items for platinum anyway. Just bumping the prices up by 1000 or so will keep them from dropping off players.

Admins 06-30-2006 03:06 PM

Which items exactly?

If it's possible all items which are wearable. Dropable can be all gems, plats, monsterparts and so on. I don't know what the other players think, but I would also make gold keys and potions dropable, so PKing is still interesting, but dont hurts a killed person too much.

Small items can easily be obtained again, though. Equipment is the major issue.

sage_scooby 06-30-2006 04:33 PM

Indeed, equipment is the mjor issue. Also event cubes wouldnt be bad seeing as you cant make em. I think GKs Potions and gems are fine to drop.

Draenin 06-30-2006 04:37 PM

Yeah. So long as there are no logs of players dropping important things like event shop items or equipment, no harm's been done.

Chris 06-30-2006 04:52 PM

I only lost plat since I died once. My hp went from 230hp to 0hp in like 2 seconds.. Wtf :frown:

Draenin 06-30-2006 04:57 PM

Fr0chin level bugged his way to 107 wisdom, and that's what level 107 rabies does.

Chris 06-30-2006 07:16 PM

Stefan could you fix my account? I can't even play without dying every two minutes. x_x

Fixed :)

Jaquet 06-30-2006 09:07 PM

I think equippable items like swords, armor, amulets, rings, etc should not be droppable. And also event items should not be dropable. Everything else should.

Divided 07-03-2006 12:35 PM

I lost a speed ammy somewhere in the last 2 months from dying. maybe raise the plat prices on those :]

ApothiX 07-03-2006 01:07 PM

Ah, this reminds me of the time a few years ago when someone had rabies and was infecting everyone, but no one knew what it was :)

myth-simba 07-05-2006 03:10 PM

my ideas of disease...

i think it's pointless.

It's not even realistic some of the diseases,
Since when do you fart and set something on fire?

maybe if you had a lighter or a torch but if you done it normally you need to be chained up somewhere, imagine you did? you'd set your house on fire and everything.

you'd burn your cloths and walk around naked.

although some people would like to lose a few pixels on their characters i don't think it would work haha
