Well I originally made it to diagonally connect like so:
PHP Code:

  |
 /

It wasn't really meant for:
PHP Code:

  ___

/

But after being done, I didn't think it looked that bad. Doing it like Zelda would mean you wouldn't be able to do the first option at all. At least this way it doesn't look that bad both ways. (And no, I didn't just skew it)

I think its fine, yea, I would rather use the default castle walls to create a 90° anyway I guess. Nice work so far Dusty.

We definitely need that for inside corners.

He already added it, it's to the right of the castle tiles.

-Dead grass cave entrance tiles.
-Shallow water cliff base

Perhaps the insides and outsides should be split into two (although you do use "inside" tiles on outsides sometimes and vice versa) it's just there are some tiles that are taking up space which are for either/or. I don't know what I'm saying..

Horrified 02-18-2008 01:05 AM

This is abandoned I guess?

DustyPorViva 02-18-2008 01:23 AM

No, not abandoned, I will get back to it sooner or later.

if someone were to remake pics1.png, they need to incorporate transparency in the tileset. Tiles like grass to sand, dead grass to sand, or even snow to sand could be made to look like the originals but having the sand parts transparent so you could stack those types of tiles. Same thing for a lot of water tiles. Then a complete remake on the lava tiles and a fix for the snow tiles and you would have a great looking tileset with probably half the space.

ff7chocoboknight 10-07-2010 01:59 AM

Not sure if Dusty will ever continue this. Let's drop it, 'kay?

I already incorporated those things into pics1, in my layers tileset. Layers are still not supported enough to take full advantage of the tileset, though.

V6 fully supports layers, doesn't it? I think it is time SOMEONE started to make a pics1 tileset with layers in mind.

Like I said, I already have, a long time ago :P No original tiles or anything like this project, but just pics1 converted with transparency and alpha-blended opacity for flexible shadows and such.

v6 supports layers, but at the bare minimum.

The version I seen half only half complete, but I did like what you had completed. There was a lot more you could have done with that tileset.
