Choppy sounds

I haven't yet determined what exactly sets it off, but the last time right after the window lost focus the music (perhaps only the music?) began to sound choppy, even after refocusing the window.

Anybody have a similar problem?

Using Santa Cruz Turtle Beach sound card with latest drivers.

Tested by lowering volumes in audio dialog.

mod/mp3 silenced lets you hear the sfx files playing clearly, even while the mp3 is choppy.

I've also captured a decent sample, zipped because the forums don't let you attach .wavs files. I have a very good quality microphone and all the choppyness, scratching, etc you hear IS what's coming out of the game.

This instance of choppyness started when I closed the RC login screen and the game refocused.

Tried to modify some options with the sound, like disabling the microphone thing in Graal ?
