How to make gangs not suck

There's no point really in being in a gang besides the occasional raid for gang points.

This is such a small incentive and gangs have become so unimportant that raiding has basically died.

What we need to do is change these big gangs into smaller squads of 5-6 people. Instead of raids we need lobbies where squads can queue up and play a game of tdm, ctf, or koth with another squad where you can do anything from 2v2 to 5v5. Give points to the winning gang and less points to the losing gang for participation and keep statistics. It will increase activity and gangs will actually have a communal aspect to them again. You don't even need to remove raiding, keep that too. But I'm sure there'd be a couple squads of 5 guys that would actually use this system consistently and keep it afloat.

I like this idea.

Creating a lobby where gangs can skirmish against one another in small groups would be a nice addition.
I also like the idea of keeping stats, and maybe making it a weekly competition, such as the weekly top sparrer / weekly top gang player.

Doesn't sound too hard script-wise I think. So just needs levels to be made and their management to want it, I guess

That's not true. There's more likely to be multiple people from different gangs on, increasing the chance of a raid. More teams = more matches.
