Development Updates.

This is going to be used as a reference area to check what updates have been added by our top of the line development team.

Feb - March 4th 2009

GC/Event Updates
  • Added a command for GCs to switch between clientside and serverside HD in events (command is '/hd').
  • Added a command for all to check the HD being used in events (command is '/hdcheck').
  • Added Flag Icons and Event Updates (in chat) during CTF (all modes).
  • Added a command for GCs to send event messages in chat window (command is '/notify').
  • Added new levels for Enter the Dino, Ticket Guesser, and Dice Dice Baby. Credit to Gladius for creation.
  • Added a new KoM type, called 'large'. This one is actually smaller than the previous KoM, which has been designated the title 'island'.
  • Added a command to swap KoM gametype, same as CTF (command is '/gametype <type>').

GP Updates
  • Redid swear logging to include about 10% of the words it used to, to prevent overlogging.

General Development
  • Got access to player suggestion log again, you can use the NPC in the poll house to sumbit suggestions to us using '/suggestion'.
  • Added new polls in poll house about cards and tickets.

7th March 2009

GC/Event Updates
  • Wizards & Warlocks completed, awaiting official event release.

General Development
  • Changes made to nickname system towards custom guild nickname colours. Guild Leaders may request a custom nick and shadow colour.

Staff Updates
  • All staff can destroy the signs they laid either on or off tag. - DC

GP Updates
  • Stryker given a shiny new Pink GP Administrator nickname colour.

General Development
  • Added a new chat system that keeps track of toalls, toguilds, level chat, and events and rewrites them into a window at the bottom of the screen. This can be toggled using the bottom right hand button onscreen.

Hirings
  • Clel hired as GC LAT (Scripting).
  • Jade hired as GC LAT (Levels).

GC/Event Updates
  • Pictionary has been vastly improved. The level is nicer looking and compliments the theme of a chalkboard. The pen has also been updated; there are no more problems with drawing too fast, players can erase only parts of a drawing instead of the whole thing,
    and more colors are available. There are new commands and instructions for both GCs and players; if you need a refresh, say '/instructions' in the level.

13th March 2009

General Development
  • Made Drunk mode randomly changes other players heads into female heads.
  • Singles Bar restored to under the bridge.
  • Delta "island" area updated; any future GC or general gaming content is likely to go here.

GC/Event Updates
  • Moved GC Studios back next to the Castle.
  • Prepared the Card House outside south of Studios.
  • Made the Monthly Arena it's own building North of Studios.
  • Wizards and Warlocks officially hosted for the first time/released.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug with the freeze system which caused players to become completely stuck if attacked whilst using the Fishing Rod.
  • Fixed a number of bugs with Rat Form that caused the player to freeze when entering levels, sitting, swimming, pushing, pulling, etc.

GC/Event Updates
  • More pictionary updates. Preset colours are now available using 'setpen <colour>'. Colours can also be cycled through using the mouse wheel. The drawing rate has been increased to make the pen feel smoother.

15th March 2009

Bug Fixes
  • Changed all references to old 'cn_*' ganis to 'classic_*' in every weapon, class and gani file. This should hopefully prevent some gani related problems from occuring whereby the wrong ganis were being checked for.
  • Made some adjustments to the map which will hopefully prefent trial users from becoming stuckif they enter observer mode whilst the map is open.
  • Fixed a bug with the freeze system that caused the player to become stuck if killed whilst using the Fishing Rod.
  • Fixed a bug which allowed players to carry more than 99 bombs or arrows when the extra ammo was transfered to them from another player.

General Development
  • Small visual update to the outside of Angel Clan.

small update for today, I was at work all day today, look for Saturday for bigger stuff from me. Though Storm's B/W Graal looks to be progressing nicely.

March 19-20:

GC:
  • Infinite Ammo droppable no longer gives you a full ammo refill to keep. If you leave the level, log off, or the droppable destroyed, your ammo will revert back to its previous amount that you had before.
  • Pictionary has another and hopefully final addition. Say 'colors' in the level to bring up Kat's color window in which you can choose a highly customizable color for your pen.

  • GC Tools

    -Confusion added to droppable arsenal, makes everyone in the level look like you, can't right click profiles, its an upgraded incognito.

    -Bomb LMS added, randomly drops a number of bombs at a certain rate designated by the GC
  • General Development

    -Saints can be hit again, they will take no damage, but still recoil. This is to prevent certain saints from laming during PKing and blocking areas.

    -Gelats/Bombs/Arrows all increment up to their total instead of instantly for a more zelda feel, the system for gralats is slightly different due to the amount of money on the server

    -All droppable items you pick up will appear over your head and fade out for less than a second, this is to add some aesthetics as well as make it clear if you actually picked something up or something else did.

    -Beds heal now, if you're not paused.
  • Development/PK

    -Level 1 shield will block incoming arrow and fireball projectiles if you are facing the way they are coming, like default, this will only deflect if you are idle and not running.

    -Boomerang no longer causes an AP drop when used, saints are now vulerable to boomerang.

Gani/Animation Changes
  • New horse ganis showing shield on back instead of shield disappearing(Does not break anihd, Thor).
  • New chest animation that shows you picking the item out of the chest and holding it up, rather than it just appearing over the chest.
  • Push/Grab ganis also now have your shield behind your back instead of disappearing.

Easter Changes
  • You can boomerang eggs now, so the ones in unreachable places you might be able to boom to you.

GC Utility Changes
  • -GCs will now be able to drop various baddies using their GC tool to spice up some events(I hope).
  • - I made a new and improved Baddy Gate that GCs can control which baddies come out of at whatever frequency they choose. Most commands for them are chat and click commands, and they have the option of having it record who is killing the most baddies.

General Development
  • Black and White Graals released.
  • New ammo API for development. All ammo based weapons have been updated to make use of it.
  • Transfering of ammo when infinite ammo is in play is enabled. This affects the ammo level as normal.

GC/Event Updates
  • Infinite ammo droppable update to use the new ammo API. Fixes issues such as infinite ammo 'sticking' on a player.
  • New droppable to disable the effects of Graals during events.
  • New droppable to disable AP (both healing restrictions and the changing of AP when you kill someone) during events.

Bug Fixes
  • All known bugs with infinite ammo fixed. The players ammo level now remains constant and they can fire ammo based weapons even when their ammo is zero.

24th May 2009

General Development
  • The Graals are removed if you spend to long in a non-PK level.
  • The Graals are removed if you spend too long paused.
  • If the 'Disble Graals' droppable has been placed, then the Graals will not be removed from you if you pause or are killed. This is to allow people to participate in events without giving up the Graals.

25th May 2009

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug which prevented players from picking up Graals after the NPC Server was restarted.

26th May 2009

General Development
  • The effects of graals are now disable in spar rooms, just as if the GC droppable had been laid.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug which prevented players from dropping/losing Graals after the NPC Server was restarted.


29th May 2009

GC/Event Updates
  • There is a new GC droppable which causes everyone in the level's nickname to to appear as their account name. The does not actually change the nickname, just the ways it displays, and will not affect the player list.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug which prevented the White Graal from allowing players to heal.


31st May 2009

General Development
  • The Graals now reset to one of their default respawn locations if they are dropped and no-one picks them up in a reasonable timeframe.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug which meant that some people could not attack others after logging on until they changed levels.
  • Fixed a bug which was causing the current events HD (serverside or clientside) to be applied to the entire server.

General Development
  • The quick drop (S+A key dropping) system has been rewritten to emulate default behaviour more accurately and provide more flexibility in the types of items that can be dropped.
  • The Black and White Graals can now be dropped from the quick drop menu.
  • The Black and White Graals are now removed from players if they remain in water for too long.
  • The Black and White Graal will always drop next to the player now, instead of reverting to a respawn point when no other players are nearby. Previous changes to reset the Graals if no-one picked them up removed the need for this behaviour.

Just a small update: Currency Reform Step 1.

Droppables
  • Bushes drop droppables like money/ammo/etc at significantly less rate.
  • Bushes now take over double the time to respawn.
  • Bomb ammo droppables will explode if exploded, 10 packs have a larger explosion
  • All other dropped items will turn red and be destroyed upon being exploded
  • MP drop from bush awards twice as much MP(10 instead of 5)

Combat
  • When deflecting an arrow with your shield, that arrow will be added to your own count.

Other
  • If you whistle in rat form, you will squeak, with noise included.

More to come, especially regarding the economy and the fate GC and its ticket problem.
Many things will come with the gralat economy fixes, including serveral NPCs and NPC upgrades(lures), as well as a few simple yet quality events based on Classic roots(not mining).
