Universal Playerworld Guild System

I've taken up the personal project of slowly working on a guild system, going to try to make it portable to be usable on any server, specifically for managing local guilds. I'm making this post for research purposes. What kind of features would you want/need a guild system to do for your playerworld?

Possible features I've thought about so far.

• Members management
• Custom Ranks and Guild permissions
• Guild Wars
• Gui and/or Text operation.
• Easily integrated into other aspects of the server, quests.
• Guild Stats/levels
• Guild Approval Queue? would be useful. and optional.

Primarily, i wanna use this opportunity to learn to use SQL databases effectively in graal. And give myself something to do on weekends.

Sounds nice, maybe add a guild chat feature, it always sounds useful.

I think guild chat is beyond the scope of this project. That should be included in whatever chat system your server uses, I was under the impression we still had "toguild:" and guild pm's.

Guild Forum, it's a good idea, but I don't expect to get to that. But definitely some kind of motd that leaders can change, maybe a future project.

My biggest question is if this will be

• a global system running on Login which provides triggers and such for people to work with it (doing a better job than the current guild system obviously, lol), or
• a library of sorts that people can drop on their server.

I think the first would be more interesting and useful, maybe you can talk to Skyld or someone to help you get permission to Login or Login 2 scripts.

Hmm, presently I was only thinking on a per server basis.
But, i'm still experimenting heavily, who knows what the future can hold?
