Roak is looking for 1-2 scripters and GFX artists. See the link in OP for the thread about Roak and details.

For scripters, we are in dire need of you as the scripts have, again, become too complex for me to finish and are now taking days to weeks and going nowhere. You need to know more than have to make an image block. While I hope that all new scripters are going to end up one of the best, we want someone who has a few years experience in gs2, or at least some type of C programming. When I mean experienced, I really mean it, as we need a custom moving system that is still based off default systems (i.e. no custom hitting or gani setting for other weapons, but still certain things I would explain if I were to hire you and would rather not say here so it's not ruined or stolen).

For GFX, you also need a few years experience. Also, maybe not in just graal, but DETAILED graphics are a must. We don't want this to look like FFIV.

If you are interested, forum PM me or Decus.

We are very, VERY close to hosted compared to most servers, and need help in these departments to get us there instead of wasting time again.

what about FFVII?

****ty joke. If your really are close to being hosted then best of luck but on the odds i'd say you are ****ed. the last server that made it big was zone or era? good luck to you but unless you are the bomb you might need more than luck. just being realistic friend.

You should look just for talented people, not only if they have a few years of experience.

What´s the difference between a staff having more experience than one having less experience but being as good?

You answered your own question!

Being good at a particular task (such as making graphics or scripting) does not necessarily mean you will be a good staff member (albeit, being experienced doesn't either). However, with experience comes insight and efficiency. Experienced staff members are more familiar with the development process and what it actually takes to successfully create content. They are also generally more knowledgeable about their particular trade.

It's unlikely that someone just starting out in scripting or pixeling will be nearly as good as someone with years of experience, so ur crazy

I agree with you but if someone does have a lot of potenial i am willing to help coach them along until they get the hang of things.

I remember the first time i got on rc i was probably 10 and was scared to press anything.

With that said,

Roak has a lot of really great ideas and content, it deserves good talented staff.

One thing i believe Cyril is trying to point out, it that it takes a lot of dedication and time to have a server ready for hosted. So with experience, most devs would understand that process.

But either way, talented and new or experienced and talented, we could use the help.

We are still looking for a scripter. We need one BAD. With me having a 4 month old, my time is just so little when looking at what these scripts need.

We also wouldn't mind a GFX artist as well as things would go A LOT faster.

Even if you don't want to be "hired" and can script, we could still use help making a few complex things.

And I want someone with experience for the reasons stated above. It takes a lot more than just knowing how to keep rolling with actually finishing a server, not to discourage anyone new who is trying and is good, and not to discourage anyone newer who would want to help. But I stated GFX period, not just Graal. Someone just starting to do any GFX and has a knack for it doesn't mean they'll be a benefitial staff member or have the ability to match up GFX to what we want on the server, as someone with a little experience would most likely be able to do all that.

And to be even more desperate, I'm asking anyone who can do this for sure and would want to, to please contact me. We need our movement system bad, and with the stuff we need/want in it, I simply keep failing and getting stuck. There are a lot of things to it, as well as scripting picking up crap and throwing it, slashing through, swimming + extra things with that, running ect. I'm simply not at the scripting level needed, and we need this done pretty bad, to say again.
