I always heard blinding lowered wc as well, but I've never used one in pvp. Any word on that?

I did test it. I know when fro tested his Tainted Grace on me it lowered my WC when i was blinded. I tested a dianchect weapon a few months back, when I switched. and it just stops you from reading... which can be useful sometimes... but why did they change it?

I don't know what really happened to blinding, it used to be pretty pro when it lowered wc, those high ac loving players would blind you and you'd be defenceless if you werent pretty high in phys already, like in the 70-80+ region. I think it was seen as too strong as it often decided peoples fate, like poison still does

that's crappy though. instead of limiting blinding. Why not add other weapons that limit other stuff??? Have one that lowers just AC. Have one that lowers JUST speed, and so on and so forth.

While tig is updating dianchect... he should fix blinding, so that it actually does something useful. As of now, correct me if i'm wrong, it only stops you from reading/writing. if it did something useful in PvP or PvE Dianchect would be used a lot more.

Preventing reading can be useful in PvP by preventing the enemy from using scrolls (restoration, etc.)

eh kinda... but would you prefer ogma or dianchect? so it's kinda useless in PVP.

Well, as Ed said, blinding is an invisible modifier. However, I've made it tremendously more effective. I've also added a screen effect. In addition, you cannot use potions or manna leaves anymore while you're blinded.

Yeah ok after checking it i think this is awful i really hate the new blinding the effect is pure annoying.

the effect isn't that bad, the total blackout is harsh, but theres a few reasons it's unfair

Mages don't have any way to blind, but warriors have a solid way to keep us blinded permanently. This isn't balanced, they can use tons of heals and just keep owning us while we're blind (which isn't a huge problem, I can navigate while I'm blind but I can't leaf).. it's fair for a simple 1v1 but we need a way to also blind the enemy so they can't leaf either.

Make mana spells blind. Simple enough, they use a ton of mana... if people think that's OP all warriors have to do is slash a sword normally to blind us consistently.
