Sound problems (music)

Recently I installed the music packages on Graal Kingdoms.
When music plays, I hear a bunch of noise or static to accompany it.
Also, when this happens, the game starts to lag.

I've had the GK music working perfectly on this PC before. But since then I've come and gone a few times. This was my first time using the new "install packages" system on the login screen.

The mp3's play fine on the Windows Media Player.
It's in-game where there's a problem.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the music and even the Graal client itself.

I don't know what else to say except that GK music makes my gameplay experience 2x more fun/happy, and now it won't work well. :[
